J. C. Searle of Payson is visiting at the home of his daughter, Mrs. William Terry. Jess Cheney came from Salt Lake and sfent a few days with relatives here this week. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Pritchett of1 Salt Lake spent the past week Visit-1 ing in Fairview. 1 Lee Barker and family came from Salt Lake in an auto and spent Sat- urday and Sunday with relatives here. j, Bert Willardson of Mayfield was the guest of Miss Sophrona Olsen i Sunday. , I Miss Sophrona Olsen, who has been visiting in Salt Lake, returned home j last week. i Mr. and Mrs. A. U. Miner and chil. dren, and Mrs. Martha Reynolds motored mo-tored to Manti Monday. Marion Stewart came from Salt j Lake for a few days' furlough before ' starting in the service of the United States. j Mrs. Sarah H. Terry will reach the venerable age of ninety-nine June 29. i A large number of her children, grand and great-grandchildren will spend the day working in the Manti Temple in her honor. i Mrs. William Terry entertained her father and 40 of her relatives and friends Saturday, J,une 23, in honor of her birthday. A very pleasant time was had and an excellent supper sup-per served. The evening was spent in music, games and social chat. Miss Marcelia Lasson and Maitland Graham of Milburn were married in the Manti Temple Wednesday, June 2 0. Miss Lasson was one of our popular pop-ular school teachers the past winter. Mr. Graham was principal of the school at Milburn the past year. They will make their home at Milburn. Mr. and Mrs. George Berkley are guests at the home of James Rigby, Sr. They went to the reservation and visited with Mrs. Berkley's mother. While there they lost a new born babe. They returned to Clear Creek just as the flood waters of the reservoir res-ervoir were raging. They could not go to their home on account of the water and camped on the hillside with a sick child. They then came on to Fairview but the child died Wednesday morning of pneumonia. , Everything was done that was pos-' sible after they reached Fairview. Funeral services will be held Friday. |
