Show AMERICAN KKI) CROSS ORGANIZES Led by Morris Simpson, a miniature minia-ture Uncle Sam, who carried aloft a splendid American nag; and two fine members of the drum corps, Max Aid. rich and Francis Lund, scores of en-thuastic en-thuastic children and ladies marched in grand parade on the principal streets of Mount Pleasant Wednesday Wednes-day evening, wearing the insignia of the Red Cross upon their arms, and flying Red Cross pennants and American Amer-ican lings. The parade terminated at the North Ward Chapel, where a splendid crowd awaited them. Every home within the city limits had been canvassed and every woman had been personally urged and solicited to come out to this mass meeting. . A most enthusiastic meeting was held under the leadership of Red Cross chairman C. W. Sorensen. Invocation In-vocation was given by Mrs. W. I). Candlaud, and the song "America" by (he audience was followed by the inspiring remarks of chairman Sorensen. Soren-sen. Mrs. Fannie C. Miles gave a splendid soul-stirring talk on "Why We Want to Organize n Red Cross in feWount Pleasant"; the solo "The Flng 'Without a Stain" was beautifully rendered ren-dered by Miss Frances Jensen. The organization of a Red Cross auxllla-ry-al-large of Mount Pleasant of I hirly-elght charter members was then effected and the following olTl-cers olTl-cers were elected: Chairman, Mrs. Abner Crane. Vice-Chairinan. , Mrs. Fannie C. Miles. Secretary, MisR WinlTred Z. Jensen. Assistant Secretary, Miss Mary Peterson. Pe-terson. Treasurer, Miss Irene Neilson.
