Show FOUNTAIN GREEN. At six o'clock Monday 'morning the bells began to ring to hearld the news that Germany had surrendered and that the world is again at peace. Boys were out on horses firing guns and the bells continued to ring until 9 o'clock. There was a parade in the afternoon in which all the cars in the city took pant. In the evening there were two large bonfires, and while it was light from the fire a soldier marched up with the Kaiser. Court was held and he was given a hearing and found guilty and was sentenced ito be burned. While the Kaiser, was burning the crowd sang "The Star Spangled Banner" and James L. Nielson gave a very touching touch-ing patriotic address. Silvester Ottensen, who has been in military training, has received an honorable discharge and is now home again. Mr. and Mrs. Hansen of MantI have returned home after visiting a few days with Mrs. Charles Johnson. Mrs. Jessie Warner is visiting with her mother here. Born to Mr. tnd Mrs. Delbert Christiansen a fine baby girl, Nov. 10. Urban Madsen, who Is employed at Ogden as a railroad mail clerk, is home for a few days. The town has been placed under quarentine until the Influenza Is all over. No one is allowed ito come In or go out of town unless they remain for three days, during which time they will be quarentined at the place they are staying. |
