Show TWO U. S. SHIPS BLOWN UP. The Lake Moor and Florence H Victims of Germans. Washington. Two disasters to American snips in tne war zone, reported re-ported Sunday by Vice Admiral Sims, commander in chief of the American naval forces abroad, are believed to have taken a toll of eighty-six lives. The Lake Moor was sunk April 11 by a German submarine in English waters and forty-five members of her crew are missing. The Florence II. was torn open by a terrific explosion while she lay in a French port, April 17, and forty-One forty-One members of her crew are gone. The apparent loss of life in the two disasters is the greatest, as far ns maritime losses are concerned, since the torpedoing of the British transport Tuseania, laden with American troops, more than 200 of whom lost their I i ves. |
