Show B w m ' . The Twentieth Century club met Thursday afternoon with Miss Annie Johansen. Specially invited guests were Mrs. O. E. McGahen" of Salt Lake, Mrs. Joseph Davis and Mrs. Hyrum Christensen. Mrs. J. P. Neff read Act II of Israel Zangwill's drama, "The Melting Pot," and Mrs. Fannie C. Miles gave a short talk on "The Immigration Problem." Luncheon was served to eighteen members and guests. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Monsen entertained enter-tained at dinner Wednesday com-, plimentary lto several members of Troop E. who recently returned. Covers were laid for Miss Ruby Sorensen, Sor-ensen, Miss Deane Webb, Miss Velma Vel-ma Tidwell, Mif,s Fannie Monsen, Seymour Jensen, Shirley Poulson, Vernon Brothersen, Leonard Petersen, Peter-sen, Clinton Poulson and the hosts. Informal games were played following follow-ing dinner and in a drawing contest, Miss Deane Webb won first prize. Miss Elda Hafen was pleasantly surprised last Monday evening at her home. The evening was spent in music and games. Luncheon was served to the following, Elda Hafeu, Vida Matson, Bernita Hansen, Ber-nice Ber-nice Madsen, Esther Knudsen, Gertrude Ger-trude Rolfson, Coila Otten, Vera! Brewer, Ethe! Gunderson, Ruth Rolf, son, Oliver Seely, R. D. Jones, Mallion Drage. John O. Carlston of Fairview was in Mount Pleasant Wednesday employing em-ploying sheep shearers for the Mound Shearing Corral In eastern Utah. He is also letting contracts for timber. Five Japs came to Mount Pleasant Pleas-ant Wednesday from Salt Lake City. They are looking over the farms with the view of leasing land on 1 which to raise sugar beets. ' Mrs. R. A. Burch and little daughter, daugh-ter, Virginia Clay, visited friends .here last week, leaving Saturday for their new home in Arco. Idaho. ! J. H. Strauss of Salt Lake was a Mount Pleasant business visitor this week. |
