Show A fire broke out in the picture' show house at EphraiinJ Tliursday night and raged through the business district of chat block burning the show house completely and dstroying eyerything in it. O. J. Bracken's store soon caught on fire and also went up in flames, destroying the intire building and stock of goods carried by Mr. Bracken. The bakery at the south was also burned by the raging-fire. raging-fire. It looked as though the entire block was going to be taken and people began to take out their belongings from the other building and piling them in the streets. All the stock j from the D. W. Anderson Drug Company was taken out into the street together with stock from a Gents furnishing store and a grocery store. The fire was caused by one of the films of moving pictures taking fire, which soon spread throughout the building. The show house was filled with people, but they were calm in getting out quickly and no one was hurt or injured m any way. A call was sent to Manti for help with fire department. One was also sent to Mount Pleasant for help with our fire department. Both cities responded and both fire departments speeded for the scene of the fire. It is estmated that loss done by the Are will reach about 75,000 or $100,000. There $5,000 insurance carried on the picture show house and some on the busings of Mr. Bracken. |
