Show - jj v airview ; Friday June the 14th, the Relief Society held a celebration, it being their lorty-fourth birthday anniversary. annivers-ary. A short program was rendered, a feature of which were speeches by Mrs. Mary Brady, Mrs. Martha Tucker and Mrs. Amanda Stewart, who were members of the first organization. org-anization. Mrs. Stewart related incidents of her early life and acquaintances ac-quaintances with the Prophet Joseph. Jos-eph. Refreshments were served and various games of a pleasing nature were indulged in. The D'Arch girls were entertained by Miss Dorcus Allred, June 10th. A short business meeting was held, after which one of their number read to them from "Three Women" by Ella Wheeler Wilcox, while the others oth-ers did needle work. Dainty refreshments refresh-ments were served. Eighteen members mem-bers were present. Mrs. Mable Johnson returned to her home in Idaho last Friday; her sister, Miss Maggie Sanderson accompanied ac-companied her. Sam Rigby, who graduated from the college department of the B. Y. U. this spring, and Miss Alice Anderson, An-derson, one ,of our popular young school-ma'ams were united in the wholly bonds df wedlock in the Manti Man-ti Temple Wednesday, June 19th. We wish them a prosperous journey through life. Miss Minerva Sanders and Artenus B. Miller both of Arizona were married mar-ried last week in the Manti Temple, and are epending a portion of their honey-moon with relatives in Fair-view. Fair-view. Mrs. Miller was given a bundle bund-le shower by her relatives at Mrs. Walter Cox's. The following named ladies have gone to Provo to work'in the strawberries: straw-berries: Mrs Sophia Nordstrom, Mrs. Ellen Peterson, Lucy Brady, Stella Pehrson, Olena Olsen, Becca Garlic, "Bessie Hughes, Helena Ped-erson, Ped-erson, Ruth Pederson, Agatha Lar-sen, Lar-sen, Ruby Peterson, Lucile Peterson, Delora Howell, Lizzie Fowles, Hor-tense Hor-tense Allred, Mjrtle Mower, Mahala Mower and Beatrice Mower. They expect a sweet time. John R. Anderson is home for the summer, will return to Baltimore to pursue his medical studies again in the fall. |
