Show . J Drain Seeped Land. Quite large areas in many of the Irrigated sections of the west have been ruined by the seepage of Irrigation Irriga-tion water and the accumulation of alkali, al-kali, or even stagnated by standing water. The developments which have been fostered through the drainage Investigations In-vestigations of the department of agriculture ag-riculture have forced upon our attention atten-tion the necessity of draining and at the same time have increased our confidence con-fidence In the practicability of reclaiming re-claiming seeped lands and of restoring them to their former productiveness. It is quite clear to the careful observer that the application of the various methods which are advocated by the department of agriculture in the drainage of these seeped lands will soon be extensively practiced In many sections of the Irrigated west. |
