Show 1 AIKVIEW liyrum Anderson came home last wet k from Slorrs, where he has spent the past inter. Castoii Garlick, who has spent the past year working in Idaho, returned home this week. Mrs. Magleby of Monroe visited with her daughter, Miss Emma Magleby, Mag-leby, of the Public School faculty, the past week. The schools are preparing to celebrate cele-brate the first of May and three different dif-ferent grades have a candidate which they are voting for to be the May Queen. Shirley Turpin is erecting a bung--low home for his bride. Carl Sundwall is tearing down his home and having it remodeled into a modern mod-ern bungalow. Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Johnson returned return-ed to Fairview this week after living at Murray the past six years. Mr. Jhuson has sold out his fish hatchery and other holdings at Murray and will make his home at Fairview. The following teachers have been employed to teach in the public schools the coming year: H. S.Ol-sen, S.Ol-sen, principal, J. W. Christiansen, Eli A. Day, Jr., A. Ira Cox, Emma Magleby, Magle-by, Cleo Olson, Vera Carter, Olena Olsen, Dora Day and Mary Sundwall. April 15th was observed in Fair-view Fair-view as a general cleanup day by the public schools. The boys cleaned the playgrounds and the girls cleaned clean-ed inside, desks, windows, curtains, etc. The most of the citizens also celebrated by cleaning yards and gar-Hens. Mrs. Maria Carlston presented the Fairview Ward with a life size painting paint-ing of Pres. Joseph F. Smith, painted by the artist Ramsey. It is a very good painting and has a handsome frame. We now have three excellent excell-ent pictures hanging in our new chapel. cha-pel. They are of Joseph Smith, jr., the Prophet, Brigham Young and Joseph F. Smith. The Ladies' Literary Club met April 2 2 nd at the home of Mrs. Chas. Peacock. After an hour of needle work an interesting meeting was held. Mrs. J. R. Anderson gave the "Whys of Flys." One of the papers given at the Manti convention of clubs was read by Mrs. A. U. Miner. Both papers were discussed. Twelve ladies enjoyed the social hour and the dainty refreshments served. |
