Show Fountain Green ! Mary Jacobson returned heme last week trom Grantsville, where she has been teaching school. j Mr3. Naomi Allred is visiting in Ephraim this week. John T. Oldroyd returned home on the 20th from the Eastern States mission on account of his mother's1 serious illness. Her condition is j gradually growing worse each day. Dr. Biglow reports one case of j typhoid fever that of Emily Johnson. ! May day was celebrated the 24th and everything was a grand sua ess, and especially the weather which was warm enough for all. A program pro-gram was held at the meeting house in the forenoon. A dance was given at the opera house for the children at 2 o'clock. The braiding of the May pules was held before the children's chil-dren's dance. The two brass bands furnished the music for the day. The celebration ended by a grand ball in the evening, About $20.00 will go to the Primary treasury al ter all expenses were paid. About 6:30 Friday afternoon a fire broke out at Peter Jacobson's. A barn burned to the ground with two new buggies, harness and other things making a loss to the amount of $1000.00. There is an insurrance for $500. The fire was started by their four-year-old boy who had taken some matches. Everyone was out and helped protect the nearby 2 buildings. On account of the heavy jj wind nothing could be done to save j. the barn although Mr. Jacobson seen iS it as soon as it started. Only four years ago they had a barn burn from i the same cause. ' Born to Mrs. Christian Johnson, a girl, May 26th. i Abe Livingston came home Satur- day from Tucker and he reports J that Hy Hanson and D. R. Livings- ton, who are herding sheep near by, jj killed a bear and captured three & small cubs. One died, but they have 3 the other two at their camp.
