THE FIRST sign ups started Saturday, Aug. 2, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The second sign up is Aug. 12 from 5-9 p.m. The last sign up will be Aug. 16 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. All boys from the ages of eight to 15 years old will be eligible to play in the Bountiful Junior Football Program. WEIGHT AND age will determine de-termine what group the young boys will play in. It is the understanding that the Bountiful Junior Football Program will realize a greater turnout in the 120 pound and ' 150 pound groups this year because the Board of Education Educa-tion in the junior high program will not have eighth graders playing football. This should increase the inflow of the eighth graders into the Bountiful Junior Football Program. THE BOUNTIFUL Junior Football Program is the largest lar-gest WFFLB franchise in the league with last year fielding over 14 teams and registering over 435 kids the Bountiful Jaycees have grown from the smallest franchise to the largest lar-gest in less than ten years. In the last three years, the Bountiful Jaycees have spent on new uniforms and equipment equip-ment for the Bountiful Junior Football teams in excess of $18,000. THIS YEAR, with few minor repairs and the extra inflow from the junior high program and the growth in the Bountiful Boun-tiful area, they will spend an additional $5,000 this year bringing the total cost of uniforms available to the junior football program to around $38,000 or to be able to field up to 700 young boys to play football this year. The Bountiful Jaycees chairman this year is Tim Tate. His director is Steve . Parkinson, vice president is Mike Gines and the president of the Bountiful Jaycees is Jim Simmons, and the WFFLB director is Darwin Pope. THESE YOUNG men would like to thank the Bountiful residents and surrounding communities for helping them ' become one of the largest junior football programs of the WFFLB. |
