Show (StrQfl(BLrwODD(Bs S BHDs The Centerville City Council voted Monday night in meeting meet-ing to accept the mill levy of nine for the fiscal year 1975-76. This cuts the mill levy in half. Previously it was set at 18. AS THE meeting progressed, Kenner Kilpack, water superintendent; Frank Duncan, streets' superintendent, superinten-dent, and Cliff Russel, police chief talked with the council concerning growth in the city , concerning problems. A public hearing was held with regards to the rezoning of the property at approximately approxima-tely 75 W. 400 N. from A-l to R-3 to allow for the construction construc-tion of 4-plexes. The request for the rezoning was made by Ace Avery. THE COUNCIL granted the request and Mr. Avery will construct two 4-plexes. Residents of the area, who were in attendance, made some suggestions as to the building. For example, they suggested the erection of a fence separating the new buildings from other dwellings. A report was made that the Police Department is looking into the possibility of securing new uniforms and arm patches. BEVERLY Pittman and husband Tube, and son Tobe Jr. approached the council to request permission to run a goat farm on their 13 acres at 400 W. and about 600 S. The purpose would be to have a dairy business. Mayor Green and the council told the Pittmans that he desired to get legal council from the lawyer concerning the matter. mat-ter. THE COUNCIL signed the linen to allow Bruce Jackson to construct 12 and 13 condominiums con-dominiums or Phase II in his Pheasant Brook Development. Develop-ment. Phase III is yet to come. Mayor Stan Green asks that citizens of Centerville give him a feedback concerning their feelings with regards to the Utah Transit Authority. He would like to know if they favor a sales tax which would support the Utah Transit Authority. HE IS interested in learning whether or not people in Centerville Cen-terville believe that the Utah Transit Authority is needed. Mayor Green would appreciate letters from citizens cit-izens concerning the matter, or they may call him and express their opinions. The important thing is that he and the council are sincerely interested in learning how their constituents really feel, am. |
