Show By ALICE MITCHELL People in West Bountiful continue to come and go at an almost unbelievable speed. They don't seem to want for variety in life. Time, only, seems to be at a premium. There doesn't seem to be enough hours available to do the canning and the weeding, to attend all of the showers and the weddings, and to support sup-port family members in all endeavors. The Bruce Moores took time out to go on vacation to Island Park, 25 miles from West Yellowstone. They really enjoyed en-joyed the vacation, even though it rained a great deal of the time. They were going into Yellowstone, but found that it was 31 degrees, so they headed for Lava. The most fun thing of the whole trip was the fact that Brian caught a Kochene Salmon, which was delicious. The Arch Widdisons went to Beaver over the weekend to attend the christening of their new grandson. Parents are Jan and Bob Chambers. Their new one will be called Dan Courtland. Besides Arch and Elon, the group of travelers to Beaver were grandparents, Bert and Helen Chambers, Bountiful; and Monte, Kyle, and Van-nette Van-nette Widdison. Garth and Ruth Ann Hogan went out to Roosevelt to visit with their cousins Bobby and Brian, children of Jean and Burr Eldredge. Bill and Ludean Smith and company journeyed to Lake Tahoe to attend a family reunion. The Wanless Southwick family attended a family reunion at Warm River, close to Rexberg, Ida. The family represented was that of Jerry, that of her grandmother Green. Naturally the Southwicks visited with grandma and grandpa, Rueland and Estella Ward. The children thought the occasion oc-casion was the greatest, since everyone got involved in loading load-ing hay and they were able to ride horses all day long. The Wendell Wilds took their friend and family and went down to Kamas, where it was so cold they almost froze to death. They then journeyed down to Manti Canyon. The Howard Pymms moved from West Bountiful, sold the trailer they had purchased, and moved into a duplex in Pleasant Grove. They are in seventh heaven because they have five bedrooms available... Leone Newton returned from a visit of two and one-half one-half months. Her host and hostess were her daughter Joan and husband Mark. She spent many hours "tending" her new grandson and helping her daughter and son-in-law in their gardens. She also took time to go to San Diego for a day to visit with friends. Joan and family reside in the Woodland Hills 3rd Ward in California. Leone took time to go to visit with Elder Mark Page, who is a missionary in the area. The Eugene Salmons were happy to share their time with their loved ones as they participated par-ticipated in the naming of their new granddaughter, Tarmra Lee DeWaal. She was named by her father Legrand DeWaal. Great-grandmother Vivian Webb and grandparents, Myra and John DeWaal, were dinner guests of the Salmons, and DeWaals as they celebrated the wonderful day. The Irvin C. Laytons were proud to attend the christening christen-ing of their granddaughter Trixie Ann Behr, who was named by her father. Ken Behr. All of the family, including great-grandparents, J. Irvin and Esther Layton were part of the group who feted the new addition. Matthew Robbins was named by his father Val Rob-bins, Rob-bins, with much gladness expressed by all friends and relations. Christine Schmidt finds each moment of the day is interesting and great. This week she was able to take a walk almost to Phillips. She was accompanied by her grandnephews, Tommy Summers and brother. She was happy to have as visitors, Victor and Elfreda Cannon and family of San Pedro, Calif. Son Charles had just completed his mission in Idaho. Daughters accompanying accompany-ing them were Isabelle and Melody Cannon. The Leo Pages had their time made more exciting by the visit of their son Wally and his son Dennis. They came down from Boise, Ida., on their way to Texas to pick up their wife and mother. Leo frightens people with his falls, but amazes them with his good sense of humor and his will to do tasks, like trying to care for his garden. Allyson Mitchell was the guest of honor at a Tupper-ware Tupper-ware shower at the home of the Fred Zesigers. Hostesses for the affair were Marj., Mary Jensen, and Er-ma Er-ma Hogan. Guests from out-of-town included Mrs. Lee Mitchell and Mrs. Fred Case, aunts of the bride-to-be. Guests were fascinated with pictures of themselves as brides, with seeing some of the wedding gowns worn, and even with the seeing of a bridal bouquet which had been well-preserved. The J.C. Watts welcomed Mary's cousins, the Don Petersons Pe-tersons of Arizona. They live close to Lourdsburg, where he is a school administrator. All of the waiting was worth it. The High Priests and their partners of the West Bountiful 2nd Ward and the widows are cordially invited to spend a few hours together, as they hold their summer party at the home of Jerry and Evelyn Thompson, tomorrow evening (Saturday, Aug. 9). Chicken and corn on the cob and other delicious foods will be enjoyed, en-joyed, as well as a program and an evening of just getting together. The Explorers will have a ball at their water skiing party tonight. The Ariel Millers had a good time recalling past years, as they had a special Home Evening Monday night. Two of Phyllis's working days' "buddies" "bud-dies" shared the evening with them. Nina Argyle, who taught school with Phyllis in Germany, Ger-many, and who will teach in England this year, were their guests. She enjoyed talking of the Old West Bountiful she had known. There had been no street known as "4th North" and she remembered running home to avoid the spooky trees and open spaces, after attending attend-ing some church or school function. Aria Mitchell, who had worked with Phyllis, was present to show films of her trip to Palestine ana Jerusalem. Phyllis and Nina relived their visit to the same country. Walter Borschel, son of the Harold Drawes, left this week for his mission to Kentucky. Luci said that it seemed only yesterday that he had had polio and she had prayed that he might be able to recover and serve the Master.
