Show DOINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL At the special meeting of the city council last Saturday evening the fallowing business was transacted: George C. Sorenson was appointed and affirmed by the council to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation resigna-tion of J. B. Seely. The request of the Mount Pleasant Base Ball Association was tabled until un-til next meeting. j A request of the business men to have a night police appointed by the council was referred to the committee commit-tee on finance. August. Lundberg was granted a pool license. In regards to purchasing the electric elec-tric light plant, the committee on street lighting was instructed to communicate with various cities in the state that operate and own electric elec-tric light plants, and to confer with the directors of the local plant in regard re-gard to price and the terms on which the same can be bought. It was decided that the mayor and as many as the councilmen that can, attend the convention of the State League of Municipalities, at Salina today and tomorrow. Governor Spry and many other noted men of the state will be present and deliver adresses. |
