Show SAN PEDRO SEEK- m COAL FIELDS. During the past two weeks' the 1 Sjh Pedro rail road ha e had a o.ir 1 .any of engineer's surveying a rail from Thistle, following the east sid of the Denver line to iliil Top, thence east across the mountains through ! hit canyon, terminating at the coa' fields in Huntington The surveying party is in charge of Mm. Ashton, chief engineer of the O, S, L, who made a similar survey sur-vey of a road from the east side of the mountains to the Huntington coal fields two years ago, Very little has been given out by the company as to their future intentions, in-tentions, but the fact is prevalent; that the San Pedro is exceedingly short of coal and no ready supply at I hand. Two companies of engineers are now busy at work, one starting from Thistle and the other now located lo-cated in Flat canyon, and being midwinter, mid-winter, apparently assures the people peo-ple that there is considerable interest inter-est taken in the coal fields in Huntington Hunt-ington by the railroad company. Should there be a road built in the near future to these mines, it would be a great benefit to the people in this locality, as well as to the railroad rail-road company. |
