Show FARM INFORMATION Never feed frostbitten potatoes, roots or other vegtab'les to live stock; .he risk is too great. The animal husbandry hus-bandry department of the Utah Agricultural Agri-cultural College calls attention to the fact that at this time of the year farmers are often tempted to utilize waste vegtables and roots by feeding them to cows, hoping that no harm will result. If the roots have been frozen, trouble naturally follows. The introduction of heavy, chilled vegtable matter into the stomach of an animal naturally causes a sudden reaction and it is not unlikely that the food value of the material is much reduced. Stockmen cannot afford af-ford to take any chances in feeding frozen vegtables to their herds and flocks. |
