Show BORAX TO EXD THE HOUSE FLY Investigation of "buffalo gnats," as a possible means of spreading pellagra pel-lagra has brought another indictment indict-ment against the common house fly, alno known as the typhoid fly. Ex-! ports of the agricultural department declare that there is much evidence pointing to the fly as the transmitter of pellagra, and renewed efforts are being made to lessen the evils of the fly. A circular says the house fly can be completely controlled in the man ure and the value of the fertilizer remain unchanged, if applications of commercial borax are made at the rate of .62 pounds to cubic feet of manure. This is a valuable discovery discov-ery and should be widely made use of as it is far more effective than fly-swatting. fly-swatting. 1T1T |
