Show Cloth Window Ventilation. The muslin windows are placed on the south side of the barn and should have etra openings made for the purpose. pur-pose. Bays the American Cultivator. Do not have them take the place of the glass windows, as there Is not too much glass now. An area of muslin equal to three or four square feet should be provided for each cow or horse. When the openings are made, light frames are' made to hold the cloth. These are t.lnged to the Inside of the openings. Wire netting (one-Inch (one-Inch mesh) is tacked over the outside. This will protect the cloth and keep out sparrows, chickens, etc., when the frames are open during warm weather. The cloth Is sometimes spoken of as "canvas," but It should; be lightweight muslin, costing six to seven cents per yard. When the muslin mus-lin windows are on the south side only no draft will strike the animals, there Is a gradual diffusion of air through the cloth and the moisture from the animals Is continually removed. re-moved. Well built barns having the muslin wiodows give very good results. |
