Show Abyssinia Exploration Childs FTick, son of 'Henry C. Frick, has recently sailed from London Lon-don with a view to making natural history collections in the Abyssinian region. He is accompanied by Lieut. Col. Edgar A. Means, U. S. A., retired, issoclate zoologist of the LTnited states National Museum, as natural-st, natural-st, and two other companions, one f whom Is a physician. The tour will be primarily through Abyssinia, but will extend into British Brit-ish East Africa, covering a portion of the area traversed by Colonel Roosevelt Roose-velt two years ago. The trip will include in-clude a visit to the vicinity of Lake Rudolph, discovered in 18S8, by Count Teleki, but little explored. It is a wild and dangerous country. Inhabited Inhabit-ed by intelligent but uncivilized Ha-matic Ha-matic people. Besides personal effects, ef-fects, the pack train will be fitted with articles of trade for the peopN such as American cotton cloth wire, mirrors, bottles for ornaments j etc. |
