Show 64 New Lock Boxes Added to Post Office Last Monday Postmaster Thomas Braby added sixty-four new boxes to the Post Office. With the addition of these new boxes, Mr. Braby is much better prepared to handle the large amount of mail which daily comes to the local office. Tnere are now two hundred and sixty-four in all. One hundred boxes were sufficient to accommodate the people of the city until about four years ago, when an additional one hundred was added add-ed making two hundred in all at that time. Mr. Braby says that about fourteen four-teen years ago he would go out and sit outside the office and wait for someone to come and call for mail so that he might wait upon them. Now the amount of mail handled by the office is so great that he needs an assistant. If the business continues to increase in-crease the next two years like it has during the past two, the office will have to be enlarged in order to accomodate ac-comodate the service. Even if Mount Pleasant has not grown in population it can easily be seen that the people have rapidly advanced in educational persuits. |
