Show Judge Jacob Johnson Introduces New Bill Hon. Jacob Johnson, Congressman from Utah, is already busy engaged in the House of Congress. He has introduced a new bill providing for the marking, tagging, or labeling of certain fabrics and articles of clothing; also defining the misbranding misbrand-ing thereof; and providing penalties for its violation. If thp bill becomes a law every person or corporation who shall within with-in the Territory of the United States, manufacture, for sale or exchange any fabric or article of clothing of wool, cotton, siik, linen, or other fiber, in whole or in part, shall mark it such in plain letters and figures fig-ures which cannot be detached. The law would be a good one for the consumer as he would know the kind of goods he was purchasing. All mixtures would have to be labeled as such, thus protecting him from being deceived when he wanted a piece of pure woolen goods. |
