Mayor Abram Johnson tendered tend-ered his resignation to the City Council last Monday morning, May 4, 1014, the cause for so doing was on account; of illness 'which lias kept him from attending at-tending to his official duties as Mayor of Mount Pleasant. Mr. Johnson has been confined 1o his home for several months and has only attended one regular re-gular session of the Council since he was elected Mayor. A special session of the Council was called Monday morning to accept the mayor's resignation. A full attendance attend-ance of the Council was present pre-sent at this session and the request of the Mayor was u-nanintously u-nanintously accepted. Councilman Joseym Monsen was appointed Mayor of Mount Pleasant, and Andrew Larsen was appointed two-year two-year Councilman to fill the vacancy va-cancy caused by Mr. Monsen. A sympathetic feeling prevailed pre-vailed in the Council in behalf of Mr. Johnson and the coun-cilmen coun-cilmen gave expression to their feelings in the form of a resolution resolu-tion which is being published in the Pyramid. |
