Show BUILDING RESERVOIR NEAR IMDEANQLA A reservoir that by its construction and operation will bring undo;' cultivation culti-vation something like four hundred acres of valuable, and heretofore idle, land, is an enterprise that is receiving receiv-ing the attention of Hyrum and Wm. Seely and their sons of this city. The reservoir is located about three miles east of Indianola, while the land which it is to bring under cultivation is located nearer town. The water is to bo brought into the reservoir during the spring freshet seasons from Thistle creek, impounded impound-ed there, and, later, when needed for irrigating purposes, will be taken by a short canal back into the creek and carried out onto the land for which it is intended. Preliminary surveys for the dam, ditches, etc., were made by Kenneth Borg, Engineer, of this city. The reservoir itself will cover about lifi.een acres of land and in its building build-ing will consist of the construction of a dam or two across a couple of canyons, can-yons, and some ditches. Its cost can hardly be estimated as yet, but if. will prtfbably be from$6,000.00 to $10,-000.00. $10,-000.00. Its depth will be about forty for-ty feet in the deepest place. The water from Thistle creek with which the reservoir is to be tilled is to be !ega'ly appropriated during the summer. sum-mer. Construction work will probably proba-bly be commenced early next fall. |
