Show fountain Green Parents' Class Important factor In Uplifting Community Within the Fountain Green Sunday Sun-day School is an organization Known as the "Parents Class" which has an enrollment of slightly in excess 50 members, with an average attendance at-tendance of 60 per cent of the enrolled en-rolled number and also an average number of visitors from 15 to 30. Among its membership numbers are found prominent local business men, social lealers, both male and female also the foremost religious worKers of the town. No other organization in Fountain Green city, social civic or religious, have done as much for the education of the parents of this city along lines of "Child Culture" "Home and Community Sanitation," "Relation of parents to Elementary School Workers," and many other kindred subjects of vital importance to all who are responsible as units in community com-munity life. It's members are both active and responsive whenever duties attendent upon committee work are imposed upon them. The teaching crops of the class are at prtsent represented by three of the most entellectually capable of citizens, citi-zens, A. H. Anderson, J. L. Nielson and J. N. Dorius, the latter Principal Princi-pal of the District Schools, Mr. Nielson Niel-son present Mayor of the city and Mr. Anderson ex-Mayor. The merit of this organization as a moral and civic improving institution is so well a recognized fact in the community, that its edicts, when issued is-sued (after a through and deliberate discussion with all phases of the question being considered from the different angles in the sessions of trie class) are acted upon by the greater portion of Fountain Green citizens, willingly and promptly. This organization of respresenta tive c tizens, have in the past Drought about needed civic and social reforms through resolutions passed and acted on by its members, also through suggestions to the City Administration, who have in all instances in-stances recognized the merit of the request and promptly acted according accord-ing to the wishes of the class, fully sensing that the views and desires of the members of the Parents class are but au expression of the wishes of the entire community. The Church of Jesus Christ of matter Day Saints have inaugurated many beneficial organizations for advancement and education of its member; but none have casta greater great-er influence and more far learching nature for civic, social, moral or religious re-ligious advancement, thus benefitting benefitt-ing everyone in the city than has the Parents Class, and the citizens of Ft. Green unanimously feel that its continuation will result in much good to the future individual units of our little community. An invitation invita-tion to attend is extended to all readers of the Pyramid' whether residents or visitors in Fountain Green. |
