Show Glass Factory To Be Built At Moroni The glass factory is an assured thing for the residents of the West side of the valley. The citizens of Moroni have much confidence in the new industry and are willing to do what they can to help the work along. On Monday the 22nd the Utah Glass Company served notice to the Big Springs Electric Company, with whom they had formerly made a contract to furnish them with electricity, elec-tricity, to prepare at once to furnish them with power. The Utah Glass Company are advertising ad-vertising for immediate construction of a large glass factory, that is to be erected near Moroni City. The estimated esti-mated cost of the plant is approximately approxi-mately $35,000. The- plant is to be constructed of structural iron, and will consist of four separate blowers. It is planned to have the plant in operation by October first. It is also al-so planned to have the Denver & Rio Grande Rail Road Company build a spur track to the proposed site. At the place where the city of Moroni Mo-roni is building the large storage tanks for the City Water Works the material taken from the excavations is the best which has been discovered. It is rich in silica and will very easily crumble when it has been exposed to the air. Samples of the rock is on exhibition at the North Sanpete Bank. The people of Moroni and North Sanpete are very much interested inter-ested in the proposed industry and will lend their assistance in helping it on to perfection. Just as we are going to press with this issue we have received word that the Denver & Rio Grande Railroad Rail-road Company will send out their surveyors today and survey a new road bed for a spur to be run from the main line of the Sanpete Branch to the Silica Beds where the proposed pro-posed Glass factory is to be b jilt. |
