The party given June ISth, by the Relief Society was a Success, socially social-ly and financially. It was much enjoyed en-joyed by the old people, more than fifty of whom were out. The auto ride was also a treat to them. On the evening of June 16th, a shower was given Miss Dora Anderson, Ander-son, at her home. The evening was spent in games, etc. Some handsome and useful presents were given. Refreshments Re-freshments were served to about twenty-five young people. Frank Rigby and Miss Dora Anderson And-erson were married in the Manti temple June 18th. They are among our popular young set and are receiving re-ceiving congratulations from their many friends. A bundle shower was given Mrs. Loa Stewart Friday evening June 20, by about twenty of her friends. The time was spent in games and songs. Dainty refreshments were served. A number of handsome presents were received. Mrs. Sarah Lyun is spending a few weeks with friends in Fairview. Mrs. Lena Brady, formerly a resident resi-dent of Fairview, spent a few days with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Poulsen returned re-turned to their home in Ephraim after a short visit with relatives in Fairview. Mrs. Elizabeth Wilson is the guest of Mrs. Frank Cox and is visiting friends. Mrs. Maranda Behannan of Spring City visited here the past two weeks. Mrs. John R. Graham and Mrs. James Larsen are Manti visitors this week. Mrs. Dan Tanner of Provo has been the guest of her son Mj ron, the past two weeks. Mrs. Myron Tucker and Miss Ruby Peterson went to Provo last week. Mr. and Mrs. Swen O. Nielson went to Green River last week. They will stay at Peacharosa for some time. Mrs. Irene Watson, who has been the guest of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Cox the past two weeks, returned to her home at Provo. The Ladies Literary club met at the home of Mrs. S. S. Sanderson June 19th, and after an hour of needle work, a meeting was held. Mrs. A. U. Miner gave a Parliamen- try drill. Mrs. David Carlston gave ! an excellent reading. The next meeting meet-ing will be held July 12th, the regular regu-lar annual meeting. Fourteen ladies lad-ies were served with delicious refresh re-fresh inents. Fairview will celebrate the Fourth of July. On the evening of July third an open air concert will be given giv-en by a Salt Lake Band, also there will b'. a grand display of Fire Works and a dance. On the Fourth the various bands and the choir will serenade ser-enade in the early morning to awaken awak-en the people. The committee has arranged an excellent program for the meeting. In the afternoon there will be sports, foot racing, horse racing and a ball game. Also another anoth-er dance will conclude the day. Born, to the wife of Henry Brady, June 22nd, a boy. Mrs. Louisa Lindquist has been ill the past two weeks. |
