Show " FOUNTAIN GREEN By Special Correspondence A great many friends in Fountain Foun-tain Green were grieved to hear of the death of Mrs. Julia Watson, Wat-son, who passed away at the home of of her daughter, Mrs. Arthur O. Neilson in Mt. Pleasant Saturday after a long illness. Mrs. Watson lived for several years in Fountain Green with her daughter, Mrs. Emma W. Seely, who has preceded her in death. Because of her wonderful personality, her optimism and courage, she gained many friends in this community. And we, her friends extend to those who are left to mourn her passing, our heart felt sympathy. Mrs. Clark Cook will give a tea Sunday, July 9th at her home in honor of her daughter, Edna, who on June 27th in the Manti L D S Temple became the bride of Grant Jensen, son of Mr. John E. Jensen of Moroni, Utah. Both Mr. and Mrs. Jensen are graduates gradu-ates of the Moroni High School and Seminary and are s very prominent in church and social circles. After a short honeymoon they will make their home in Moroni. The following enjoyed an outing out-ing and dinner at Salt Creek Canyon Sunday afternoon: Mrs. Ethel Jensen, Nelda Mikkelson, Carole Chapman, Dora Ivory, Beth Oldroyd, and Mrs. Ethel Anderson. They had as their speial guests, Private lc R. Glade Anderson and Private lc Ove Lund, both are on furloughs from hospitals where they are assigned for treatment of wounds received when in combat service. Miss Janice Olsen, who is attending at-tending the University of Utah, and Miss Ethelyn Allred and Ed-dis Ed-dis Hansen the L D S Business College in Salt Lake City, spent the week end at their homes in Fountain Green. Mrs. Itha Green entertained at a delicious luncheon Friday evening eve-ning at her home, her club members mem-bers being her guests. word irom tne war uepart-ment uepart-ment this morning advised Mrs. Mildred Mower, that her husband, hus-band, 1st Lieut. Leo L. Mower has been reported missing in action while flying over Germany. Ger-many. Lieut. Mrs. Vera Johnson was hostess to the Stitch and Chat club members mem-bers Wednesday afternoon at her home. Mrs. Johnson recently returned re-turned from Salt Lake-City where she visted her daughter, Cherryl and granddaughter, Gail before they leave for Washington where they will make their home. Miss Royce Curtis of Salt Lake City visited during the week at the home of her grandfather, Mr. Loren Jensen. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Morgan and son, Jack of Springville, Utah visited Tuesday with Mrs. Gladys Winters and children. Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Ivory of Brookings, South Dakota are visiting vis-iting at the home of Mr. Ivory's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Muriel Ivory. I Mrs. Edith Brown and daughter, daugh-ter, Corinne and Mrs. Homer Ol- J sen and children of Monroe, Utah visited Friday in Fountain Green with relatives. Mrs. Mabel Blackham and daughter, Nedra of Moroni spent Tuesday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. P. C. Oldroyd. Miss Vaunile Ivory, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Ivory is spending her vacation with relatives rela-tives in Salt Lake City: Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hansen of Tooele, Utah visited during the week with Mrs. Hansen's parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. R. Ivory. Mr. and Mrs. Monte Robertson and daughter of Payson are visiting vis-iting with Mr. Robertson's moth-e.', moth-e.', Mrs. Lillie L. Robertson. Mrs. Rhoda Robertson entertained enter-tained the K. K. club members at her home Thursday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Newel Johnson and daughter of Provo spent In-dependene In-dependene Day in Fountain Green. Miss Bertha Allred of McGill, Nevada is visiting with her grandmother, Mrs. Bertha Chris-tensen. Chris-tensen. Mrs. Bessie Rasmussen and children of Garfield, Utah are visiting with friends and relatives rela-tives at Fountain Green. Lucile and Fern Jensen, daughters daugh-ters of Mr. and Mrs. Loren Jensen Jen-sen have left to spend the summer sum-mer in Salt Lake City. The following program was given in the Fountain Green ward chapel at 10:30 on the morning of July 4th, Independence Independ-ence Day. The National Anthem was sung by the congregation. ,The opening prayer was offered by Joseph S. Christiansen. A vocal vo-cal duet .;is given by Iris and Kenna Johnson. A violin solo, by Mrs. Mabel Blackham of Moroni. Mo-roni. The speaker was Mr. Irvin P. Oldroyd. A vocal trio was g jn by La Rue and Lu Jane Christiansen and Irene Winters, accompanied by Miss Pauline Madsen. A vocal duet was given by Jessie Oldroyd and Velda Jackson. Reading, Mrs. Martha Edler. A piano. duet, by Mrs. Ver-da Ver-da A. Lund and Jesse Oldroyd. The closing song, "America," was rendered by the ' congregation. The benediction was offered by James H. Mikkelson. |
