By Special Correspondence j Infant Bills Dies In Salt Lake j Wendle Dick Bills, 9-day old son of Wendle C. and Fawn Twitchell Bills, died in a Salt Lake City hospital Thursday at 4:30 following an operation. Survivors include the parents, a sister, Lillian Fawn Bills, Salt Lake City and four grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bills of Fairview and Mr. and Mrs. Ade-bert Ade-bert Twitchell 6f Manti. Funeral services for little Wendle Dick Bills were held at the home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bills, with Howard W. Rigby of the ward Bishopric conducting the service. The opening song, "O My Father," Fath-er," was sung by a trio, Mrs. Lila Graham, Mrs. Ellen Peterson and Mrs. Elva Hamilton. The opening open-ing prayer was offered by Mrs. Emma Evans. The first speaker was Bishop Golden D. Carlston, who spoke comforting words to the bereaved parents. The baby's mother was unable to be present at the funeral. A vocal solo, "Mighty Like a Rose," was sung by Mrs. Elva Hamilton. The next speaker was Howard W. Rigby. A trio, "Brahms Lullaby" was sung by Elva Hamilton, Ellen El-len Peterson and Lila Graham, j The closing prayer was offered by Henry Wheeler and the grave in the City cemetery was. dedicated dedi-cated by Howard W. Rigby. The Literary club met at the home of Mrs. Eva Hand Friday evening. A book review on "The Keys of The Kingdom," was given giv-en by Mrs. Louise Christensen. Dainty refreshements were served serv-ed to nine members and three special guests. The evening was spent ni needle work. Mr. and Mrs. Leland Nielson ahd family of Provo were visitors in Fairview this week. A number of friends surprised Mr. Kay Vance Friday evening at his home, the occasion being Mr. Vance's birthday anniversary. anniver-sary. A delicious hot supper was served to the following guests: Miss Alice Evans, Miss Flora Jensen, Miss Florine Anderson, Miss Mariam Peterson, Miss Bonnie Bon-nie Knight, Miss Donna Fern Nielson, Don Terry, De Mont Howell, Allan Brady, Bryant Brady and Jess Coombs. The evening was spent in playing games. Every one enjoyed a most pleasant evening. Mr. and Mrs. Francis Titcomb and family and Mr. Joseph Tit-comb Tit-comb of Magna, Utah are vistors at the home of Mr. and JVIrs. John L. Mower.,-' Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Stevens and sons, Joy and Ned and little daughter Betsy of Murray, Utah and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Peterson and little daughter of Salt Lake City spent Independence Day with Mr. and Mrs. Willis Brady. Mr. and Mrs. Valten Tucker entertained at a hot diner Sunday Sun-day at their home in honor of their son, Arthur Tucker's birthday birth-day anniversary. A number of relatives were present. Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Shepherd and family of Spring Canyon were visitors in Fairview this week. Mr. and Mrs. Urban Hartley and daughter, Carma Hartley were Provo visitors last week. Mrs. Lucy Tucker and daughter, daugh-ter, Cherrill are visitors in Salt Lake City this week. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Jensen and family of Sunnydale, Utah are visiting their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Peterson at Fair view. George Vance, SP(x) 3c of the U. S. Navy is spending a 15-day leave with his mother, Mrs. Bess Vance and other relatives and friends. Georee has been sta tioned in the Southwest Pacific. Mr. and Mrs. De Von Sanderson Sander-son and family of Idaho Falls, Idaho are visiting with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Sanderson and other relatives and friends at Fairview. A "Gold Star Mothers Tea" under un-der the direction of the American Legion Auxiliary officers and members was held in the Fair-view Fair-view South ward chapel last Friday Fri-day afternoon. A splendid program pro-gram was given and light refreshments re-freshments were served to 90 present. The "Gold Star Mothers" were honored guests and received a beautiful corsage of flowers. Miss La Ree Terry of Salt Lake City, who has spent the past month visiting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rollan Terry, returned re-turned to Salt Lake City last Saturday where she has employment. |
