Show Prominent Lady Passes Away i I Julia Frandsen Watson Dies Ai Home oi Daughter Following Follow-ing i.lany Years of I.Iness ' Julia Frandsen Watson, 72, died here at the home of ht r daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. Arthur O. Neilson, Saturday Sat-urday evening, following many ears of illness. Mrs. Watson was a prominent leader in the musical circles of this city. She served as chorister of the North Ward choir and for ! years was president of the ward j Primary organization. She was born in Mt. Pleasant Feb. 7, 1872, a daughter of Rasmus Ras-mus and Jacobena Madsen Frandsen. She was married to William E. Watson of Mr. Pleasant, Pleas-ant, Nov. 6, 1SS8. Her Husband and a daughter, Mrs. Emma W. Seely, preceded her in death. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Fern W. Neilson; two sons, W. Blaine Watson, San Francisco, Francis-co, Cain.; Capt. Owen G. Watson, South Pacific; eight grandchildren, grandchil-dren, three of whom arc in the armed forces; four great-grandchildren, and five half brothers and sisters: Mrs. Annie Rolfson, Mrs. Laura Hansen, Mrs. Cecelia Gunderson, and Leonard Frandsen, Frand-sen, all of Mt. Pleasant, and Lewis Frandsen, Mountain Home, Idaho. Funeral services for Mrs. Watson Wat-son were conducted in the Mt. Pleasant North Ward chapel, Wednesday at 2 p. m., under the direction of Bishop O. M. Aldrich. The opening song was tendered by the ward choir. Invocation by Joseph R. Bagnall. A vocal solo, was given by Mrs. T. W. Jensen. Mrs. Ruby Ivory of Fountain Green and Daniel Rasmussen of Mt. Pleasant paid tribute to her memory and a vocal solo was given by Mrs. Pearl Peterson. Mrs. Lu Rania Tood and Pres. H. C. Jacobs spoke comforting words and Bishop Aldrich made closing remarks. The closing song was rendered by the choir and the closing prayer was given by O. V. Anderson. Ander-son. George Squire conducted the singing with Mrs. Norma Neilson Neil-son Kotter at the organ. The grave in the City cemetery v, as dedicated by Patrirrch Ar thur O. Neilson. Burial was under direction of the Jacobs Mortuary. Capt. Owen G. Watson, who is in the Air Corps in the South Pacific v. as unable to be here to attend the service. Paul Seely, a grandson, who is in the Service in Australia, and Karl Seely, grandson, who is in the Service in Florida were unable un-able to be here. Frank W. Neilson, a grandson, who is in the Air Corps at Fort Custer, Mich., was unable to be here. Mrs. Enid Price, a granddaughter grand-daughter in California was unable un-able to attend. |
