Show FOUNTAIN GREEN ' i By Special Correspondence ' Mrs. Emeline M. Blain Passes Away at Her Spring City Home Mrs. Emeline M. Blain, 72, passed away at her home Mon day evening, July 3rd after an (illness of several years. She is the wife of John S. Blain, Clerk of the North Sanpete Stake and Clerk of North Sanpete School District. Her son, Rulon Blain is the Postmaster of Spring City. Mrs. Blain was born August ,81 1S71 at Spring City, a daughter daugh-ter of Lauritz and Louise Jeper-sen Jeper-sen Larsen. She has been an ' active L. D. S. Church member, being active in the ward choir for several years, also a counselor coun-selor in the ward Primary Presidency Presi-dency and a chorister of the ward Relief Society for several years. Sue was married to John SJ Blain January 3, 1901, in the Manti L D S temple. She has lived her entire life in this city. I Surviving are her husband, John S. Blain, Spring City, and j the following children, Rulon j and Florence Blain, Spring City, ! Mrs. Louise Greaves, Santaquin, : Utah; Mrs. Ida E. Raddatz of; Provo, Utah; two step sons, Rob-1 ert L. Blain, Salt Lake City, U-; tah; Arthur Blain, Payson and j 7 grand children, also a brother, ' Albert E. Larsen, Rogerson, Ida- i ho; and two sisters, Mrs. Mary L. Zabriskie, Eureka, Utah, and i Mrs. Laretta Kidman, San Diego, California. Funeral services will be conducted con-ducted Friday, afternoon, July 7th in the ward chapel at 2 p. m., under the direction of the ward Bishopric. Interment will be in the City cemetery under direction of the Jacobs Mortuary. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur L. Robinson, Robin-son, and family of Haley, Idaho are visiting with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Madsen, and mother, Mrs. Mary Robinson Robin-son of this city. Mr. and Mrs. McKay Anderson attended the wedding of a relative rela-tive in Santaquin the latter part of the week. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Benson and family of Dragerton are holiday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Justesen. Mrs. Mary Jenson is visiting her son Wardlon Jensen and family at Provo.' A beautiful pageant, "Salute To The Flag," was presented Tuesday morning, July 4th in the ward chapel, under the direction- of the ward Primary, with Mrs. Reid H. Allred, Mrs. Angus Black and Mrs. Void Sorenson. Miss Theone Osborne was "Miss Liberty," and Connell Osborne was "Uncle Sam," with Miss Maxine Jensen as the Wreath Beare:-. Mrs". Helen Madsen and Mrs. Christie Bunnell as the readers. Those in the pageant were: Wallace Allred, Neva Beck, Ina Hansen, Blake Allred, Mar Rae Blain, Robert Schofield, Joyce Sorenson, Johnny Baxter, Kenneth Ken-neth Osborne, Gordon - Blain, Earlene Hansen, and Shirley Schofield. Those presenting musical numbers num-bers were: Mrs. Rose Schofield, Morris Bunnell, Mrs. Iva Aiken, Mrs. Olga Black, Mrs. Virgus Osborne Os-borne and the Primary children. Flower girl, Rochelle Sorenson; Chaplain, Mrs. Elva M. Allred, Stake Primary President. James C. Ellis, local Bond Committee Com-mittee Chairman, advertised the sale of Bonds in this community. He introduced Lt. Orson DeVon Osborne, who spoke on some of the costs of flying planes as the fighter type he has flown. Veterans Vet-erans of World Warl. and World War II were presented with flower flow-er bouquets. Mrs. Odell Blain and children, Tessie, Lilia Lee and Dwane spent the week end in Provo with Mr. Blain, where he is employed. Charles Thompson, formerly of this city, and now employed at Bingham, Utah visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Christian Thompson and relatives the past week. He had recently received word from his son, Lt. Richard Thompson, a prisoner of war in Germany, is now receiving letters let-ters from home and is now enjoying en-joying better- health, as his leg broken at the time of internment in August, 1943, has now improved im-proved greatly. He was co-pilot on a B-14. He received his broken leg when ne naa to paracnute to earth. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Tucker are visiting the Holiday week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Pratt Osborne, Os-borne, parents of Mrs. Tucker. Miss Manett Allred is visiting at Draper, Utah and Salt Lake City with relatives. Lightning struck the home of Leonard Sorenson Saturday evening. eve-ning. It blew out the radio and house lights. The Guide and Blazers of the Ward Primary held a party, Monday Mon-day evening at the home of Mrs. Mary Fenell, their teacher for many years and now released. Lt. Devon Osborne met with the boys and told them of his experiences ex-periences on his 50 combat missions mis-sions in Italy. The boys presented Lt. Osborne Os-borne with a box of candv and Mrs. Fennell with a lovely pillow. pil-low. Other guests were Mrs. Reid H. Allred, Mrs. Angus Black, Mrs. Pratt Osborne, Mrs. Virgus Osborne and Mrs. Eva Peterson of Provo and sister of Mrs. Fennell. Fen-nell. Refreshments were served. |
