Mr. Hanks Gives Inspirational Talk Last week North Sanpete High was fortunate in having Mr. Hanks, the author of "Up From The Hills," as a speaker at her weekly assembly. Mr. Hanks presented his philosophy phi-losophy of life that the going is never too hard that it-can't be mastered. His life proves his point. Having lost his sight and hands in a mine explosion, he fought his way through despondency, despond-ency, through morphine addiction, addic-tion, to competency which he defined de-fined as the ability to earn an honest living. Though his story was pitiful it was so charged with his matter-of-fact acceptance as to be full of hearty laughs that were a tonic to anyone who might be indulging in self pity. Areola Cheney. |
