Show Sanpete History : Is In The Making m Golden Centennial History ou To Be Published By The Daughters of Utah Pioneers llle Looking forward to our Cen-res Cen-res lennial year in Sanpete County. the Daughters of the Utah Pio to ners are sponsoring the publish-oin publish-oin ing of a golden centennial his-s. his-s. tory. The history will contain ' 2. the story of the settling and building of tall of the towns of ind Sanpete County. The history will for be written by various talented ike writers from our own county. w From the very beginning the story will unfold to tell of how our grandmothers and grandfathers grand-fathers fought to subdue Indian Country, the alkili desert soil and many other hazards of pioneering pio-neering so that homes, schools, churches, industries and business busi-ness firms could be established. In addition to the history the book will contain 80 pictures of people who have been builders in our county, and of places of interest. Max Blain, native Sanpete artist, will paint in oil color the various towns against their own mountain setting. This will be I reproduced in full color in the book. These ten oil paintings I will add a priceless contribution to the books artistic appeal. This book goes to press Sept. 20th and will be out Dec. 15th for Christmas gift distribution. Orders for the book are now being be-ing received by the various Daughters of the Utah Pioneer Camps. Any one having valuable historical his-torical data concerning events, people and places in our county-are county-are urged to contact your Camp Captain. A Contest is now announced for an appropriate name for the J book. The prize is $5.00 and a l complementary copy. Everyone J living in Sanpete County is in-l in-l vited to participate in this con-J con-J test. This book now in its final l preparation promises to be an outstanding publication.
