Show Local Co-op Manager Says Station Association , To Buy Own Refinery Managers of retail cooperatives coopera-tives throughout Utah pledged "unqualified support" of the Utah Cooperative Association's proposal to raise money for ac- quisition of refining capacity according to Roy Moss, manager ' of Farmers Co-op Service at Moroni. The announcement was made following Mr. Moss' return from a meeting in Salt Lake City June 10, at which preliminary plans for the finance drive were discussed. A five-year, bronze award was conferred on Mr. Moss along with nine other local managers by W. B. Robins, manager of the Utah Cooperative Association, at the meeting. Recent reduction of gallonage quotas by the present suppliers to the cooperatives plus steady rising prices charged cooperatives coopera-tives for petroleum products in the area were credited with giving the immdiate spur to the producton program, Mr. Moss said. Final plans for the finance program will be developed at a meeting of state association's board of directors in Salt Lake City next Monday and a meeting meet-ing of a finance committee consisting con-sisting of twenty members in addition to the board which will meet on Tuesday. "The finance committee members mem-bers have been selected to represent rep-resent every' section of the state in which cooperatives are established estab-lished or are being organized, Mr. Moss, who will represent 'Moroni, said. |
