Show FAIRVIEW Legion Conducts Rites For Vet- Full military honors were given by the American Legion Post in Fairview at the graveside grave-side services for Sgt. Lloyd Ross Stewart, 27, son of F. Ross and Clara Hamilton Stewart of Milburn, which were conducted Saturday at the Fairview city cemetery under the direction of Bishop Wilford Wheeler of the Milburn Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Bishop Wheeler was the speaker and Floyd Young rendered ren-dered a vocal solo, "Sleep Soldier Sol-dier Boy." The graveside dedicatory dedi-catory prayer was offered by Keith Hansen, after which the flag was folded by Alvn- and Eugene Hamilton and presented to Mrs. Stewart by Reed C. Las-son. Las-son. The body was accompanied home by M. Sgt. . Lloyd V. Hill and Sgt. B. L. Hagle, Ogden. Pallbearers were Eugene and Keith Hamilton, Garn Stewart, Loyal Stewart, Glen and Larry Stewart. Among the out-of-town visitors visi-tors were: Mrs. Lily Snee, Dorothy Doro-thy Poulson, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Brady, Mrs. Clyde Jensen and daughter Jerry, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Hamilton, Mrs. O. L. Hamilton, Payson; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Stewart, Stew-art, Provo. Vance M. Snow, 30, North Hollywood, Hol-lywood, Calif., former Fairview resident, died recently at a Los Angeles hospital. He was born November 25, 1917 at Butte, Montana, a son of Stanley and Mildred Johnson Snow. Surviving are his parents; his wife; a daughter, Meleene, and a grandmother, Mrs. Sarah Snow of Fairview. . A family dinner was served last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Howard W. Rigby to Mr. and Mrs. Peter Peterson, Mrs. M. H. Madsen, Mrs. William Wil-liam Rigby, Mrs. Alva Clement and son Donald, Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus Jensen and son, Mrs. Myrl Jensen Clark and sons Kent and Gale, Oregon, and Mrs. Bune Gunderson, Salt Lake city. Miss Afton Anderson and Miss Carol Graham spent the week-end week-end at home with their parents. The girls are employed in Salt Lake citv. Mrs. Ann Vance, Salt Lake city, spent several days last week visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Ted Vance and family and other oth-er relatives and friends in Fair-view. Fair-view. LaMarr Hamilton, an employee em-ployee at Zions National Park, spent several days last week visiting his parents, Mr and Mrs Alvin Hamilton. He was accompanied to Zions by his mother, Mrs. Hamilton, Mrs. Winnie Rasmussen and Carolyn Caro-lyn Madsen. They visited with Helen Rasmussen, also an employee em-ployee at Zions, and friends and relatives in St. George, including includ-ing Mrs. Hamilton's father, Mr. Sprowl. Mr. and Mrs. Ted E. Madsen and children Kenneth Eugene and Norma Jean left Tuesday to motor back to their home in Washington, D. C. where Mr. Madsen has been employed in government work the past eight years. They spent the greater part of the three weeks they were in Utah at the homes of their parents, par-ents, Mr. Vern Cox and Mr. and Mrs. Merlin H. Madsen and on fishing trips in the mountains. The climax being a family supper sup-per at Camp Hogan in Boulger enjoyed by Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Shep"herd, Mr. and Mrs. Ted E. Madsen and family, Mr. and Mrs. Vaughn D. Madsen and family, Mr. and Mrs. Reed L. , Madsen and Mr. and Mrs. Mer- lin H. Madsen. They were also entertained - at family dinners by Mr. and Mrs. Reed Madsen, Mr. and Mrs. Vaughn Madsen and Mr. and Mrs. Alva Clement. They also enjoyed evening snacks just before be-fore leaving, at the home of their grandparents, Mrs. Caroline Caro-line Madsen and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Peterson. Mr. and Mrs. Blain M. Madsen Mad-sen and family of Salt Lake ! city attended the dinner at Vaughn's and also spent a nigh; with Mrs. Madsen's parents, i Mr. and Mrs. Herbert L. Norman ' of Mt. Pleasant. I Mr. and Mrs. Merlin H. Mad-i Mad-i sen were host and hostess at a turkey dinner in honor of their j son Ted and family and Mrs Madsen's sister, Mrs. Mirl Jen-I Jen-I sen Clark. Fifty relatives from Manti, Ephraim, Mt. Pleasant and Fairview were present. Kent Jensen is now in Salt ' Lake city seeking employment. ! Andrew Shepherd, Mrs. Mer-1 Mer-1 lin H. Madsen and Mr. and ; Mrs. Ted E. Madsen spent last ' weekend in Salt Lake city visit-' visit-' ing friends. Mrs. Elizabeth Cox spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Don Cox and family. Mrs. Cox. a resident of Salt Lake city, also visited other friends and relatives rela-tives while here. Mrs. Edda S. Graham and sons , Robert and Gene made a short i tour of several of the Northwes- tern states, and also part of Canada. While on their trip they spent several days with Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Sumsion and family of Cheney, Washington, and Dr. and Mrs. E. J. Call and family, Moscow, Idaho. They returned- to Fairview last week. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Hamilton Hamil-ton of Salt Lake city spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Lor-en Lor-en Hamilton of Milburn. Another An-other son, Keith, is now- visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton. Mrs. Harold Syndergaard and son of Wyoming, Mrs. LaVern Torgerson and son, Teasdale, Utah, are visiting with John Swensen. Mrs. Syndergaard is the former Helen Swensen and Mrs. Torgerson was formerly Ronna Lee Swensen. Woody Stevens, Murray, son of Mrs Willis Brady is overseeing over-seeing the remodeling of Snow college. Mrs. Henry Johnson and daughter Mary Jean, Salt Lake city, Mrs. Dee Adams, Mrs. Bill Williams, daughter Margaret, and son of Orem were Sunday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Willis Brady. m . Mrs. Hyrum Vance Sr., is visiting vis-iting with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Coombs at Lavton. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Tucker and family, Richfield, spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Val-ton Val-ton Tucker and Dorothy. Mr. and Mrs. Rulon S. Rasmussen Ras-mussen of Monroe visited Sunday Sun-day with relatives and friends in Fairview. . Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Christ.nsen of Provo visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. John Christensen. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Mad.-en of Washington, D. C. visited last week with Mr. and Mrs. M. H. Madsen. Miss Mayciel Jensen, daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus Jensen, Jen-sen, returned home Sunday from Circleville where she has hern employed this summer.
