Show 1 V LUTHER KING Mr. Luther King Will Give Return Engagement at Snow Luther King, famous negro tenor, will make a return engagement engage-ment to Snow College on December Decem-ber 11th. He will be accompanied by his wife, Jean Houston, who also arranges several numbers especially lor his voice. All who have heard Mr. King sing will agree that he is a truly great singer, and will not pass up the opportunity of hearing him again. From the New York Times comes this statement, "Luther King's voice was hauntingly clear as a distant bell in the well known "Swing Low Sweet Chariot." Chari-ot." "His Negro Spirituals were imbued im-bued with all the mystery, longing, long-ing, and religious fervor out of which they have been created through the years," is the comment com-ment from the Learedr-Post. Among the numbers he will sing is the Crucifixion, a request number arranged by Jean Houston. Hous-ton. Other spirituals will include Steal Away, Los'Sheep, Two Wings, and Plenty Good Room. These are also arranged by his accompanist. Some of the favorite favor-ite classics will be Come Beloved, I Heard a Forest Praying and My jMative Land. Mr. King is now on a return tour in Canada. |
