Parker, Chairman Home Division, On National Award. , The Executive Board of the 1 actional ac-tional Safety council announced today that the home safety division of the Utah Safety council has been awarded the "Grand Award Certificate" for the createst achievement achieve-ment in home safety by any state in the country for the year 194o. The award made to Utah is recofj-nition recofj-nition of the outstanding: efforts ot the many organizations cooperating cooperat-ing with the home safety division. Parker is chairman, sponsored a HUimi. SAFETY WEEK," April 8th to 14th, 19-15. Assisting the division in developing activities throughout the state for Home Safety Week, which was proclaimed by Governor Maw, were prominent church organizations, or-ganizations, public service clubs, cultural groups, business firms, tility companies, visiting nurses and child welfare groups. The elements considered by the judges and upon which the award was made were: planning and procedure, pro-cedure, soundness of program, committee com-mittee and membership cooperation, public interest, outside agency cooperation co-operation and benefit to the community. com-munity. . . Many leaders of religious groups, civic and cultural clubs served on the committee and their organizations organiza-tions cooperated fully m the prq-o-ram It is estimated that approximately approxi-mately 1,600 such groups arranged home safety discussions sometime prior to or during Home Safety Week at meetings within their respective re-spective organizations. Large committees com-mittees were organized in four ot our major cities to intensify the program within such aieas. The home safety division m cooperation co-operation with its manv affiliated organizations is continually , Planning Plan-ning programs and activities throughout the state to further home safety with the ultimate objective ob-jective of reducing the rate ot accidents occurring in the home. |
