Show ! MORONI I By Speed Correspondence Warren Major and Elliott Arn-oldsen Arn-oldsen of the U. S. Army are enjoying en-joying 15-day furloughs with relatives and friends at Moroni. Mrs. Mary Draper entertained the M. H. club last Thursday afternoon af-ternoon at the home of Mrs. Mary Stoey where the time was spent in a pleasant social hour, after which a delicious hot dinner was served. Mrs. Hanna Faux and Mrs. Ethel Bailey were special guests. Supt. and Mrs. Wilbur Ball of Mt. Pleasant were the speakers at Moroni West ward Sacrament meeting last Sunday and Bishop B. A. Childs of Mt. Pleasant was the speaker in the Moroni East ward. The balance of the services serv-ices in the East ward was used to demonstrate the beautiful $1,-900 $1,-900 Hammond Electric organ which has just arrived this week, and it was also stated that it was purchased while Bishop Childs presided over the ward. On account of war conditions the organ was not available until the present time. Mrs. Florence Bagnall of Mt. Pleasant was at the organ and played some beau-taiful beau-taiful selections. The ward is to be congratulated on this spelen-did spelen-did achievement. Mr. and. Mrs. Earl Bailey o' Salt Lake City have purchased the home on Main Street,, formerly for-merly owned by Mr. and Mrs. Earl Blackham. They will rent if for the present. Mrs. Russel Bailey and Roy Storey left Monday to attend the funeral services on Tuesday for their brother, Arthur Storeywho passed away last week. Interment Inter-ment was in Blackfoot, Idaho cemetery. The "Lazy Daisy" club members mem-bers were entertained Monday evening at the home of Miss Myrtice Nunley where the time was spent in chatting and sewing, sew-ing, after which a delicious hot luncheon was served. A shower was given last Thursday Thurs-day evening by Mrs. Lewis Black ham and Mrs. Eldon Westen-schow Westen-schow in honor of Mr. and Mrs. De Neal Anderson. The bride was formerly Miss Mary Anderson, Ander-son, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clark Anderson. A splendid program pro-gram was rendered with Sirs. Afton Anderson in charge, after which delicious refreshments were served. The young coup!? received many userul and beautiful beau-tiful gifts and have the best wishes of everyone for a long life of success and happinees. Mr. and Mrs. Othniel Kellett have purchased the home last week of Mr. and Mrs. Udell Anderson. And-erson. Udell has bought a home in Salt Lake City, where he has employment. Mr. and Mrs. Victor L. Bradley and Mrs. Florence Green, all of Ogden, Moyle and Lois Stewart of American Fork, visited with Mr. and Mrs. Rees Bradley and family last Sunday. Lois is a niece of Mrs. Bradley and Moyle is a nephew, who has just recently recent-ly received an honorable discharge dis-charge from the Air Corps. Bill Tomlinson of Los Angeles, a son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Archie Christensen visited last week end with them at Moroni. The "dress shop" building which was operated for so many years by Mrs. J. W. Christensen, now of Mt. Pleasant, and which was built in front of her brick home, has been torn down this week. The home is now owned by Mr. and Mrs. Dan Olson. Several Moroni people attended attend-ed the farewell party last Wednesday Wed-nesday in Chester, which was given by their entire ward in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Nelson Nel-son and family, who are planning plan-ning on leaving there in the early spring. They were presented pre-sented with a beautiful gift as a token of appreciation from the ward members of Chester. Mr. and Mrs. O. L. Eliason; spending the winter in 0 fornia with relatives there. Mrs. Rulon Johnson left M: day to attend Leadership flat fl-at the Brigham Young Unives at Provo. |
