Show Mt. Peasant's First Baby Dies In Salt Lake City. Mrs. Sarah M. Borg, 86, 1311 E 4th South Salt Lake City, a former for-mer resident of Mt. Pleasant died Saturday at 7:30 p. m. at her residence of natural causes. She was born Sept. 11, 1859, In Mt. Pleasant, and is believed to have been the first girl born in this community. She was the daughter of Jens and Christiania Jensen Jorgensen. She was the widow of James Borg, Mt. Pleasant Pleas-ant pioneer, whom she married in the Salt Lake L D S temple in 1882. Survivors include two daughters, daugh-ters, Dr. Georgia B. Johnson and Mrs. Mabel Borg Jenkins, Salt Lake City; a son, Kenneth Borg, Salt Lake City; two brothers, James Jorgensen, Mt. Pleasant; Will Jorgensen, Castle Dale; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Seely, Castle Dale; Mrs. Daniel Rasmussen, Mt. Pleasant; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted conduct-ed Wednesday at 1 p. m. in the Mt. Pleasant North L D S ward chapel by O. M. Aldrich, bishop. "My Faith In Thee," was sung by a Trio of girls, Miss Donna Lu Ericksen, Miss Lola Drage and Miss Lucile Nelson. The opening prayer was offered of-fered by Dan E. Borg. An organ solo, "Star of The East," was rendered by Mrs. Florence Flor-ence Bagnall. Daniel Rasmussen paid tribute to her memory and a vocal solo, "In The Garden," was sung by Ralph Hafen. President George Jorgensen of Price and President H. C. Jacobs spoke of her life and character. Bishop Aldrich made some closing clos-ing remarks and the Girls Trio sang, "Goin Home." The closing prayer was offered by P. A. Peel. The grave in the City cemetery was dedicated by Ruel Seely and burial was under the. direction of the Jacobs Mortuary. Out of town people who came to attend the services were J. M. Boyden of Sandy, Utah; Mrs. and Mrs. Kenneth Borg, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Borg, Mrs. Frank Christensen, Christen-sen, Mrs. Georgia B. Johnson and Mrs. Mabel Borg Jenkins, all of Salt Lake City. |
