Wilford Anderson, 48, prominent promi-nent church worker died Monday, July 17 at his home after a lingering linger-ing illness. He was born Nov. 12, 1896 in Fountain Green, the son of Eras-tus Eras-tus W. and Annie C. Hansen Bogh Anderson. He married Arvilla Peterson of Ephraim July 21, 1926. Mr. Anderson acted as custodian for the L D S ward church for nearly 14 years, and was secretary secre-tary of the Elders Quorum for six years. He is survived by his widow and the following children: Dale, Ruel, Eudene, Janell, Evan and Helen; a brother, Stewart Anderson Ander-son of Moroni; and three sisters, Mrs. Ida Anderson of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Minnie Symes of Mc-Gill, Mc-Gill, Nevada and Mrs. Nita Mad-sen Mad-sen of Moroni. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 21, at 2 p. m. in the Fountain Green ward chapel with Bishop Gayle Yorgason conducting conduct-ing . Burial will be in Fountain Green City cemetery, under the direction of the Ursenbach Funeral Fu-neral Home. Fountain Green Boy Wins Award Lieut., Asael J. Olsen, son of Mrs. Minnie L. Olsen of Fountain Green has been awarded the the air medal and four Oak Leaf Clusters for service in aerial duty over enemy occupied Europe. ' His air base is in England. Lt. Olsen is a graduate of the Moroni High school and attended Snow Junior College at Ephraim, Utah and the University of Utah. He completed his advance flying school training at Wiliams Field, Chandler, Arizona. Private Wilford Virgil Coombs Reported Killed in Italy July 1 Word was received Thursday by relatives in Fountain Green from the War Department that Pvt. Wilford Virgil Coombs, son of Mr. Wilford Coombs of Fountain Foun-tain Green was killed in action in Italy on July 1st. He is the husband of Avoy Coombs of Wales, Utah, who is the mother of a baby three weeks old. 1st Lieut. Leo L. Mower Is Reported Safe in Neutral Land First Lieutenant Leo L. Mower, son of Clarence and Leona Mower of Fountain Green was reported Thursday by the War Department Depart-ment to be safe in a neutral territory, ter-ritory, having been forced down wL.le on a mission in the combat area. He will be interned for the duration du-ration as a prisoner of a neutral country. Lieut. Mower is the husband of Mrs. Mildred Mower. Mr. and Mrs. Niels E. Jensen report that their son, TSgt. Garner Gar-ner F. Jensen has landed safely in France. Sergeant Forrest Yorgason who is stationed at Rapid City, Army Air Base, South Dakota is spending spend-ing his furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. V. Yorgason in Salt Lake City and his brother, Bishop Gayle Yorgason and family fam-ily at Fountain Green. Program and Dance to Honor Service Men Everyone in Fountain Green turned out Monday evening to honor our boys who were wounded wound-ed in action. Pvt. lc R. Glade Anderson, vho was wounded in the battle oi Tunisia, Afria and Private lc Ove Lund, who was wounded and contracted Malaria in New Guinea. The program was conducted in the theater building and was as follows: Irvin P. Oldroyd acted as Master of Ceremnies. Prayer was offered by Ivan Bailey. Specialty dance, under the direction di-rection of Mrs. Irene A. Hansen, was given by Vonda Gay Ivory and Maureen Mayer. Vocal solo, "God Bless America," Ameri-ca," by Boyce Morley. A vocal solo, by Mrs. Beatrice Yorgason. A talk by Joseph R. Christiansen. Christian-sen. Vocal solo, by Jesse Oldroyd. Reading, by Maurine Robertson Robert-son of Moroni. Talk by Pfc. Glade Anderson. Vocal trio by Urban Madsen, Jesse Oldroyd and Velda Jackson. The losing prayer was olierea by Bishop Gayle Yorgason. The dance, under the direction of the Revelers Orchestra, was largely attended. Social News Mr. and Mrs. H. V. Yorgason, Mr. And Mrs. Val Gene Yorgason and son, Allen of Salt Lake City and Delbert Yorgason of Midvale visited during the week with relatives at Fountain Green. Members of the "Jolly Kru" club enjoyed a Weiner roast Monday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Barker of Los Angeles, Calif, are visiting with Mrs. Barker's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Niels Lund. Mrs. Hattie Carter of Provo and Mrs May Halliday of Santaquin, Utah visited during the week with their brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. William Col-lard. Col-lard. Miss Ell Dean Van Buren of Moroni is visiting for a few days with Miss La "Rue Christiansen. Mrs. Ivan Rasmussen and daughter, Camille are visiting with relatives in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. George E. Col-lard Col-lard and daughter, Mrs. Helen Ershaid and their son, Kenneth of Provo visited during the week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. N. M. Jensen. Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Green and daughter, Mary La Nell of Salt Lake City visited during the week with relatives. Mrs. Aury Draper entertained at luncheon Friday evening at her home. The "Jolly Kru" club members were her guests. : Mr. and Mrs. Gardell Jacobsen of Salt Lake City visited Tuesday in Fountain Green. Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Carter and children, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Francom of Levan, Mr. and Mrs. James Swensen and Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Carter of Moroni enjoyed a dinner and outing at Maple Canyon Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Anderson of Los Angeles, Calif, visited recently re-cently with their niece, Mrs. Nora A. Johnson and family at Fountain Foun-tain Green. James Jacobsen of Salt Lake City is spending his vacation with his grandmother, Mrs. Sina Jaobsen at Fountain Green. Mr. and Mrs. Leon Lund and children, Harvey and Delores were among the hikers to Tim-panogas Tim-panogas Cave Saturday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Peter Hansen of McGill, Nevada visited recently with Mr. Hansen's mother, Mrs. Francis J. Hansen. Mr. and Mrs. Bardell Collard, Mrs. Jenna Hansen, Mrs. Caroline Johnson and Mrs. Olivia Mikkel-son Mikkel-son attended funeral services Thursday for their uncle, Gregory Greg-ory Metcalf of Springville, Utah. Miss f,a Pi"l Aagard of Salt Lake City is visiting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John E. Aagard. Mrs. A. A. Anderson is visiting in Provo with her daughter, Mrs. Rhea Lamb and children.
