Show 2 Sanpete Boys See Plenty of Action in South Pacific Few servicemen see more action than the amphibious engineers and for Utahns that branch of the service has been attractive. In a single year ending June 20 they saw action in landings and at Nassau Bay, Lae. Finschhafen, Saidor and Aitape in New Guinea, Arawe and Cape Gloucester in New Britain, the Admiralty Is-I Is-I lands and Sarmi in Dutch New Guinea and Wakde and Biak off Dutch New Guinea. Among those hard fighting youths were Pvt. Leo P. Simpson of Mt. Pleasant and Pvt. Neal J. Petersen of Spring City. |
