Show : I MORONI 1 By Special Correspendonce Mr. and Mrs. Karl Peterson re ceived word last week of the saft arrival of a baby girl born Aug 1st to Mr. and Mrs. Burnell Hoi man of Santaquin. The mothei was formerly Miss Idona Christensen Chris-tensen of Moroni, a granddaughter granddaugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Peterson. A most delightful day was spent last Wednesday when the Arc club and their partners motored mo-tored ,to Lagoon. There were 12 couples in attendance. Mrs. John Rostron announces the marriage of her daughrter, Frances to .Robert Rosequist of Ephraim on Aug. 10th at the home of Mrs. Rostron. A shower was given in their honor last Thursday evening in the East ward chapel where a splendid program, under the direction di-rection of Mrs. Ivy Anderson, was enjoyed by all. Delicious refreshments were then served to the large number present. Many beautiful and useful gifts were received by the newlyweds. Jarrett and daughter of Los Angeles has just returned home after having spent several weeks with her mother, Mrs. James Larsen. The Farm Home Making club has been organized in Freedom and Jerusalem with Edna Coates as president; Wanda Taylor, Vice President and Macel Everts, Secretary Sec-retary and Treasurer. Mrs. Mable Shaw and daughter, daugh-ter, Romona of Malta, Idaho are spending their summer vacation with relatives at Moron i . I A large number of Moroni people peo-ple attended the funeral services J for Willam Collard of Fountain Green, who was so well respected by all his many relatives and r a host of friends in Moroni. In-terment In-terment was in the Fountain Green cemetery. A Geneological convention was held for Moroni Stake in Moroni West ward last Sunday. Both . sessions were well attended. J Mrs. Rodney L. Anderson re- - turned home Monday after spend , ing two weeks with members of - her family in Salt Lake City. The Jr. Sorosis club was en- ' tertained last Wednesday at the ! home of Mrs. Rula Lamb, where tne evening was spent in a very plasant way. A delicious luncheon lunch-eon was served. Mr. and Mrs. James Attrill and daughter, Phyllis of Vancouver, B. C, Canada are guests at, the .home of his sister, Mrs. Ida Dice. Mrs. James Larson spent last Friday in Nephi where she visited vis-ited with relatives there. Mrs. Ruth Vance and son, Richard of Murray, Utah spent a few days last week with relatives rela-tives here, Mr. Urvin Gee invited his Sunday Sun-day School class to accompany I him on a trip to Bryce Canyon last week. They left on Wednes-I Wednes-I day morning ana attended a most delightful entertainment and program at the Bryce Can-I Can-I yon Lodge the same evening. On j Thursday, after enjoying the beautiful scenery as well as most delicious home cooked meals, they returned 'home. Mrs. Urvin Gee, Mrs. Elaine Frandsen and Mrs. Clara Nelson were present pres-ent as well as 24 class members and all reported having had a most wonderful trip, Cecelia Nelson, Mrs. Amelia Fescher, Mrs. Fern Allen, Mrs. Mary J. Blackham, Mrs. Edna Larson and Mrs. Mary Draper of the M. H. club entertained the remaining members at the home of Cecelia Nelson, where they spent the afternoon visiting. A lovely dinner was served at I Lee's Cafe to Maria Larsen, Min-lerva Min-lerva Nelson, May Christensen, Rena Neilson, Helena Olson and the hostesses. I Miss Rashel and Thomas Mor-ley Mor-ley of Arlington, Virginia, are spending their summer vacation with relatives at Moroni. |
