Benediction by Frank Shepherd. Burial was in the Fairview city cemetery, under the direction of Madsen-Jacobs Mortuary. The grave was dedicated by George Peterson. Andrew T. Hartley, farmer and stock raiser, died here Friday at the home of Mrs. Minerva Burrows Bur-rows Stewart of natural causes. He was born Feb. 8, 1879 at Fair-view, Fair-view, a son of Caleb T. and Christine Chris-tine Peterson Hartley. He married mar-ried Elsie May Peterson Dec. 6, 1899. He was a member of the L. D. S. church. Surviving are four sons, Wayne Hartley, Spring Canyon; Andrew M. Hartley, Mapelton; Caleb T and Ross Hartley, Indianola three daughters, Mrs. Laura Tur-pin Tur-pin and Mrs. Ruby Hansen, Fair-view; Fair-view; Mrs. Golda Tucker, Benjamin; Benja-min; 18 grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Dosena Brown, Mt. Pleasant; Pleas-ant; Peter Hartley, McKinnon, Wyo.; Mrs. Sylvia Anderson, Mrs. Isabelle Bell, Mrs. Minerva Burrows Bur-rows Stewart, and Caleb, Urban and Glen Hartley, all of Fair-view. Fair-view. Seaman He Kay Vance, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Vance, has received his honorable discharge from the service. He entered the Navy May 31, 1945 and received his boot training train-ing at San Diego, California. He was then sent to Terminal Island, San Pedro, Calif. He served on U. S. S. Pallavega, a troop ship. He made trips back and forth between the States and Okinawa, Pearl Harbor, Subic Bay, the Philippines and Shanghai Shang-hai and Psing Pao, China. R 3 Dan Coons, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Coons has received his honorable discharge from the sGrvicc He entered the Navy June 8, 1945 He received his boot training train-ing at San Diego, Calif. After five months he was transferred to Chicago where he served for nine months in the Naval Reserve. The marriage mar-riage took place August 1st, at 'Caliente, Nevada. Ora Cox of Layton is spending the week in Fairview with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Evan Cox Mrs Alvin Day and two children chil-dren of Eureka, California are visiting relatives and friends at Fairview. Mrs. Othela Christensen of Salt Lake City visited over the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Hansen. tt Mr and Mrs. Vale Howell are the proud parents of a baby girl born to them. Mr and Mrs. Whitford Amundsen, Amund-sen, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs Hugh Burnside of Salt Lake, soent the week end at McKinnon and Green River, Wyoming, where they visited with Peter Hartley. Mr. Hartley returned to Fairview with them for a visit and to attend his brother Andrew-Hartley's Andrew-Hartley's funeral. . . Helen Brady, daughter of Mrs. Crystal Brady, visited a few days last week in Orem with her sister, sis-ter, Mrs. Elbert Porter. Mr. and Mrs. C. H. King and daughter of Los Angeles, California Cali-fornia have been recent visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Reed Orton. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Hamilton of Salt Lake City were visitors over the weekend at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Loren Hamilton. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Mills and family of Ogden were week end visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Mills. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jones and children of Richland, Washington Washing-ton are visiting for a couple of weeks with Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Jones and other relatives and friends. Mr. Clifford Jones who is employed em-ployed at Richfield by Young's Construction Company, spent the week end here with his family. Mr. and Mrs. B. R. Lowe and baby and Mr. and Mrs. Jo Keepers Keep-ers of Houston, Texas are visiting visit-ing at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Vance. Mr. Lowe and Mr. Keepers were recently released from the Army. They will attend at-tend the University of Utah this coming year. A wedding reception honoring Mr. and Mrs. Grandon Rowe was held August 3 at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Sidwell. Refreshments were served to about 55 friends and relatives. Many lovely gifts were received. Arlene Sidwell and Alice Cox gave a shower July 26th in honor of Mrs. Grandon Rowe, formerly Cleone Sidwell. Refreshments were served to 40 guests. Mrs. Homer Sidwell and grand daughter, Carlene recently returned re-turned from a two weeks trip to Holister, California where they visited with Mr. and rMs. Ernest Quinn. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Gardner recently re-cently returned from a month's trip touring Arizona here they visited the Grand Canyon and the Mesa, Arizona Temple; also in California here the visited in San Diego, Los Angeles and Hol-lyood, Hol-lyood, then through Oregon, Hashington, Montana and Idaho and Yellowstone National Park. Mrs. Norma Jacobson and two children, Joan and Julene of Salt Lake City are visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs.1 Fred Gardner. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Gardner spent last week end visiting in Oakley, Utah with their children, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Wilde. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Brady and family visited in Provo Saturday Sat-urday with their children, Jay Brady and Mr. and rMs. Keith Allred. They attended a B. Y. U. Band concert held in the Joseph Jo-seph Smith Memorial building. Jay is a member of the band. Mrs. Lorna Tucker entertained her bridge club Thursday evening. eve-ning. Mrs. Lorna Tucker celebrated her birthday anniversary Sunday Sun-day at her home. A hot dinner was served to 30 relatives. Miss Loy Tucker and Mr. Sterling Sterl-ing Pack of Salt Lake City and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Tucker and baby of Provo were week end visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Valten Tucker. There will be a special program pro-gram Sunday evening, Sept. 1st at Fairview South ward chapel. Don't miss it. Mrs. Grant Mower entertained her bridge club Thursday evening eve-ning at her home.
