Show Gracudoivn On ' Burglary G Theft Local prosecutors have agreed to take a hard line approach to future burglary and theft cases, according to an official of the Davis County Attorney's Office. "We will be as firm as possible within the framework of the system," said Loren Martin. MR. MARTIN, assistant county attorney and police legal advisor, said that during the next six months the office will emphasize burglary and theft cases in prosecution. He said each case will be reviewed by the staff rather than just one attorney and closer cooperation with police departments in discovery and apprehension in these offenses of-fenses will be sought. "Our experience has shown that an individual or group can burglarize businesses or residence at the rate of two or three or four a night," Mr. Martin said. "The majority of people are honest, but crime does pay. If possible, we want to increase the risk (to the criminal)." MR. MARTIN said the reason for the approach is that a review of felony cases shows that the largest portion of them are burglaries and high-value thefts. burglaries or thefts t08h ': , decrease the crime ellr that area e rale m |
