Show Any Way You Look At It Well folks, the sound and the fury of candidates trying to outbid each other for your support is about to subside and the most important act of this or any other campaign is soon to be performed by millions of free citizens throughout through-out the United States. Tuesday, November 2, is the day each of us will be given an equal voice in saying who shall run the U. S. and Utah and Sanpete county. Candidates who delight in references ref-erences to the common man are of course talking about the voter. No other ceremony of American life places all of us on so completely a common plane as does the voting of a secret ballot. The vote of the richest man in the country counts for just exactly as much as that of the poorest man. The president of the United States, with all his power, exerts ex-erts no more influence with a pencil and a ballot than does a peanut vendor. On election day we all have an equal block of stock of America to vote. Each of us has his own idea of what kind of America he wants and who the candidates are that can bring it about. So, no matter how you look at it selfishly or as a civic duty taking full advantage of the right to ballot secretly is just good sense. |
