Pleasant have been .Caving in the violin section and Cla-r Vance in trombone section of "B-ieham Young university Symphpny Orchestra in a num-bcr num-bcr of oustan.ding programs this OnMarch 14; -the' ninety piece orchestra performed before an audience of 2000 in the Provo Stake Tabernacle with Rudolph Ganz, noted composer, pianist, and conductor. Following the per-.ormance per-.ormance Mr. Ganz stated The work of this orchestra typifies the development of fine music m America. One cannot imagine finding an orchestra such as yours so far from the metropolitan metropolit-an cities." In a world-wide broadcast Easter morning, the symphony orchestra was featured together with the B. Y. U. mixed chorus of 150 voices. This broadcast was carried over Columbia Broadcasting Broadcast-ing System, Canadian and Mexican networks, and a short wave to Europe and South America on a chain on half-hour oroadcasts which began in Italy. The orchestra made a tour of Southern Idaho during the week of April 8 to 13, perform ng m schools, colleges, and public programs. |
