Show Moroni ARC Club Posts Deer Hunt Prise The Moroni citizen who brings in the largest buck from the current deer hunt has got a handsome gun scabbard awaiting him, according to officials of the ARC club. The club is offering the scabbard to the hunter who bags the "biggest one" providing provid-ing he is a citizen of Moroni, but is not a member of the ARC club. The prize is on display dis-play at Vernile's store. Judges are Warren Blackham Kay Livingston and Boyce Jensen. Jen-sen. Club member who brings in the biggest buck will be awarded award-ed kl pair of spurs. The club member who bags the smallest legal size buck will be given $5. w The MIA of Moroni's East Ward and West Ward got together to-gether Tuesday night for their annual Halloween party, which was held at the Old Bungalow. The more than one hundred who attended came in costume. Marie Nelson, dressed as a gyp-sey, gyp-sey, won the prize for the best costume from the West Ward. (Continued on hack pa?c . Mrs. Fern Jensen is president of the East aWrd MIA and Mrs. Dora Morley acts as her first counselor with Mrs. Ora Morley as second counelor. Stake President George Anderson An-derson directed attention to the coming quarterly conference of Moroni Stake which will be held in the Moroni West Ward chapel cha-pel November 12 and 13. The speakers will be announced at a later date, President Anderson said.. He said the theme of this conference will be "Welfare". A new dump truck was delivered de-livered Tuesday to the city of Moroni, according to Mayor Charles Christensen. The truck will be used for miscellaneous city work, Mr. Christensen said, with emphasis being placed on its use for city-street city-street maintenance. Sidewalks are being constructed con-structed this week from the corner at Main Street to the north corner of the East Ward church property. The Moroni Stake Primary board has visited Primaries throughout the stake this week according to Mrs. Ivy Anderson, stake president. On Monday Mrs. Anderson, Mrs. DeOra Blackham and Mrs. Minnie Livingston visited the Chester Primary. On Tuesday Mrs. Anderson, Mrs. Vawn Guy-mon Guy-mon and Mrs. Ruth Christensen visited at Wales. On Monday Mrs. Myrtle Kelson, Kel-son, Mrs. Norma Blackham and Mrs. Afton Anderson visited with the East Ward's Primary and Mrs. Mary Christensen and Mrs. Lucille Magelby visited the West ward. The Board plans to visit the Fountain Green Primary in the near future. Rulon Johnson will be the chief speaker at Sunday night's sacrament meeting in the West Ward, Bishop Ray McKinnon announced an-nounced this week. Mrs. Pearl Christensen has also consented to present a musical mus-ical number. Bishop McKinnon directed particular attention to the change in hour of meeting. The time has been changed from 7:30 p.m. to 7:00 .pm., and he asks this change be noted so that services may begin promptly. prompt-ly. Bishop James W. Nielsen announced an-nounced this week that Allan Irons, a recently returned missionary, mis-sionary, will be the principal speaker at the sacrament serv ice in the East Ward Sunday night. Bishop Nielsen also announced that the time for meeting has been changed from 8 p.m. to 7 p.m., and that meetings will begin promptly at the new time. Miss Faye Blackham will be hostess to a group of her friends tonight at a party at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ace Blackham. - The party, held in observance of Halloween, will be a costume cos-tume affair. Miss Blackham will be assisted as-sisted in serving refreshments by Leona Bailey and Lou Anna Olsen. Those invited to attend are LaRetta Draper, Kay Anderson. Adella Faux, Stella Nelson and Mrs. Ruth Jensen, who is the girls Primary teacher. Mrs. Artie Olsen returned to Salt Lake city Tuesday after visiting here last week in the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Blackham. Guests at the home of Mrs. Annie Nielsen during the past week were Mr, and Mrs. Ferry Nielsen of Provo; Mrs. C. M. Sorensen of Salt Lake city and Bishop and Mrs. Clive Worthen and children,. Kathlyne, Tonie and Paul of Kenilworth. James Prestwieh is visiting this week in the home of his son and family, Dr. and Mrs. J. S. Prestwieh in Cedar City. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Flaherty and sons, Frank and Jack, of Temple City, California, were visitors this weeK in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Robertson. While here, they also visited Dther relatives and friends. Members of the Senior Sorosis Club are to be entertained this afternoon (Friday) in the home of Mrs. Fayora Draper. After luncheon is served by the hostess, Mrs. Mella Morley will tell a famous Halloween story and Mrs. Draper will present pre-sent a musical program. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Hiller of Salt Lake city and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Sloan of South Gate, California, were guests over the weekend in the home of Mrs. Loona Irons. Mr. and Mrs. John M. Hiller of Salt Lake city visited last weekend in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clair Cahoon. While there they also visited other relatives. An all-school Halloween party par-ty is scheduled to be held tonight to-night in the Moroni high school gym. Everyone is to come in masquerade and a prize will be awarded to the person wearing the most outstanding costume. The affair is being sponsored by the Student Council. Elden Westenskow will be in Ogden tomorrow attending the Utah Holstein Association sale of dairy cattle. He will also be in Logan over the weekend on a tour of dairy farms in Cache county. Mrs. Clara Donaldson and children of Spring City were guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Elden Westenskow and of Mrs. Ralph Blackham last Monday. Mon-day. Mrs. Perry Blackham and daughters visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Virgel Jacobsen in Fountain Green last Saturday and Sunday. Udell Anderson of Salt Lake city visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. RcSiney Anderson, last weekend. George Anderson, Moroni seminary teacher, attended a seminary faculty meeting at the Ephraim institute last Monday night. This periodic meeting takes in seminaries as far south as Bicknell, as far west as Delta and goes from Nephi on the north to Mt. Pleasant on the east. Mrs. Charles Christensen and Mis. John Anderson were in Provo shopping Wednesday. Mrs. Reid Shepherd and son, Jimmy, of Salt Lake city and Mrs. Mont Rasmussen and children chil-dren of Provo visited the -first part of the week with their parens, par-ens, Mr. and Mrs. Russel Bailey. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Bailey of Salt Lake city were weekend visitors in the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Russel Bailey. The Senior Sorosis Club is planning its first party, of the fall season to be held tonight at the Lion's Lodge. Husbands will be guests of the Sorosis members. A dinner will be served by the club members, with the dining din-ing tables being decorated with fall flowers. Members of the Birthday Club are planning to go to Richfield tomorrow to celbrate the birth day anniversary of one of their Former members, Mrs. Vanorma Anderson. .,,. Mrs. Anderson will sei vc luncheon to the group and the day will be spent in inlormal visiting.
