Show Spring City Christofferson Praised As Youth Leader The funeral services ' " held Wednesday afternoon for Hans Peter Christofferson were largely attended. Many friends and relatives from other communities communi-ties attended the services. Bishop Reid H. Allred presided. pre-sided. The prayers were offered by N. P. Sorensen, Moroni, and Rudolph Hope. The choir singing sing-ing "Though Deepening Trials", "Kind Words Are Sweet Tones" and "Abide With Me", were conducted con-ducted by Mrs. Elizabeth Anderson. An-derson. The solo was sung by Mrs. Anderson. A vocal duet was sung by Mrs. Flossie Blain and Mrs. Olga Black. The speakers, Vivian Larsen, John Petersen and Bishop Allred spoke of the kindness of Mr. Christofferson and that he always al-ways had a kind word for others oth-ers and a smile for those he would meet. This has been a wonderful family and the best of neighbors. They were always willing and ready to assist others. oth-ers. Wherever Mr. Christofferson Christoffer-son worked he was kind and helpful to the boys working with him. .The poems, "A Friendly Greeting" and "Only A Dad" were read. The floral offerings were profuse pro-fuse and were carried from the chanel by the grandchildren and relatives of the, family. The flowers were cared for at the chapel by Mrs. Adelaide Thompson, Mrs. Ada Ellis and Mrs. Vanda Petersen. Interment was in the city cemetery under the direction of the Ursenbach Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant. Alfred Neilsen dedicated the grave. Pallbearers were members mem-bers and close friends of the family. Hiels Dahl Observes 82nd Birthday Niels N. Dahl became 82 years of age Saturday. He was born in Denmark, May 7, 1867. At the age of 11 years he came with his parents, Peter N. and Bertha Marie Dahl and sister Anna to Utah. The first two years were spent in Fountain Green after which they moved to Spring City and have resided here since. He was married to Verletta Clawson at Spring City, Dec. 21, 1892. Some years later a marriage ceremony was performed per-formed in the Manti Temple. Mrs. Dahl passed away several years ago. They are the parents of five children, four of whom are living, Rulon N. Dahl and Mrs. Harold Mickel, Spring City; Mrs. George E. Rackham, Og-den, Og-den, and Mrs. Revere Robinson. Paragojiah. There are 22 livinp grandchildren and 6 greatgrandchildren. great-grandchildren. Mr. Dahl has engaged in the livestock and farming industry. Mr. and Mrs. Morsden Allred will attend the wedding and reception Thursday evening at the Pleasant View Ward in Orem for their neice, Sherrie Colleen Drage. The young bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Malin Drage of Orem. She will marry Bruce Miller also of Orem. Mrs. Drage was formerly of this city and Mr. Drage of Mt. Pleasant. Cancer Drive Underway Mrs. Vilate Hope is conducting conduct-ing the special cancer drive now underway. The drive is being carried out as a house to house canvass at the present time. Mrs. Ireta Strate, past PTA president, took charge of the program Monday evening at the progressive rook party sponsored by the PTA, with funds to go to the swimming pool project. The program was: duet, Mary-Ann Mary-Ann and Betty Jean Nunley, accompanist, ac-companist, Mrs. Rose Schofield; reading, Maxola Olsen; piano solo, Donna Bunnell; reading Karma Petersen; vocal solo, Mrs. Alice Strate; reading, Kathleen Donaldson; reading, Lorell Han sen; dancing numbers, June and Jean Miller, Manti, accompanist, accompan-ist, Patsy Schofield; ladies double dou-ble trio, Mrs. Iva Aiken, Mrs. Flossie Blain, Mrs. Elda Acord, Mrs. Lafern Jensen and Mrs Rose Schofield. A bouquet of flowers was presented to Mrs. Christena Strate, the oldest lady present. Her age was 80 years. Light refreshments re-freshments were served to a large group of ladies attending the party and all enjoyed an evening of rook playing. The barn and shed belongin.r to Christian Sorensen caught fire Saturday afternoon and did some damage to the barn and straw but the fire was extinguished extin-guished before too great a damage dam-age was done. The fire was from an unknown origin.
