Show Early WA Alum Passes At 78 Mrs. Annie Frederikka Jensen Meyrick, 78, widow of the late James D. Meyrick, Sr., died Saturday Sat-urday evening at the home of her son, James D. Meyrick, Jr., after a years illness from heart trouble. Mrs. Meyrick was one of the earliest students of Wasatch Academy and was the oldest resident member of the First Presbyterian Church. She was a charter, member and past worthy matron of Ivy Chapter No. 10 O. E. S., a member of the Mt. Pleasant Pioneer Historical Association; the Home Culture Club, Daughters of Utah Pioneers, Pio-neers, and the Woman's Missionary Mis-sionary Society of the First Presbyterian Pres-byterian Church. She was born in Mt. Pleasant. March 20, 1871, a daughter of Andrew P. and Wilhelmina Lundblad Jensen. Her parents were among the original settlers of Mt. Pleasant in 1859. She received re-ceived her education at Wasatch Academy and was married tc Mr. Meyrick, prominent wool grower of this city in 1893. Mr. Meyrick died in 1941. Surviving are her son, James D. Meyrick, Jr., four daughters, Mrs. C. A. Poulsen of Mt. Pleasant; Pleas-ant; Mrs. F. M. Pannetier of Salt Lake; Mrs. Harvey Gibbs of Marysvale; and Mrs. Urel! Mikkelson of Fountain Green; eleven grandchildren and six sisters, Mrs. H. P. Jensen of Sal' Lake; Miss Selma Jensen, Mrs Lorinda Neilson and Mrs. John H. Stansfield of Mt. Pleasant: Mrs. Leona Rixey of Woodlake Calif., and Mrs. H. Guy Wood of South Pasadena, Calif. Rev. E. E. Bollinger conducted con-ducted funeral services Tuesdav afternoon in the First Presbyterian Presby-terian Church. Music for the services included a solo, "Hold Thou My Hand," by E. G. Brunger; a duet, "Face to Face" by Mrs. Ray Peterson and Mrs. Neil Hafen, and organ selections by Miss Grace Mae Sample. Graveside services were in charge of Ivy Chapter No. 10. O.E.S., and Rev. Bollinger offered of-fered the closing prayer. Burial in the Mt. Pleasant city cemetery under direction of the Ursenbach Funeral Homo. |
