Show No Synthetic Tires The rubber industry has not yet licked the problem of synthetic syn-thetic tire production, declares J. B. Seiberling, who predicts that "there will be very, very few" new all-synthetic tires for civilians civil-ians this year. The President of the rubber company which bears his name says that the first all-synthetic passenger-car tires are just coming com-ing off the lines in limited quantities, quan-tities, that no satisfactory all-synthetic all-synthetic truck tires have been built and that no satisfactory all-synthetic tubes have been built as yet by anyone. The industrialist urges motorists motor-ists not to relax in their vigilance against tire abuse, saying that it will be the middle of next year before civilians can getthe tires they need and that unless care is taken of existing tires, there may be an enforced lay-up of thousands of cars and trucks. |
