Show Hamilton School Band Attends Celebration The Hamilten Elementary School Band, consisting of 64 members and ti.cir leader, Mr. Marsden Allred brought credit to themselves and to Mt. F'easanl when they appeared in the Covered Wagon Day celebration celebra-tion rxarade, in Sail Lake City, cn July 24. T'htse 64 young musicians received re-ceived recognition as one ol the outstand ng features of the parade, by the parade judges. Comments ;ere heard from all sides complimenting compli-menting these fine young people and their leader. While in Salt Lake City the band members were the guests of tne New-house Hotel where they made their headquarters and received :'iee accomodations. Through till arrangements made by T. W. Jensen, Jen-sen, the band was taken free to Ealtair where they presented a Band concert and were en:ertamed as giests of the resort company. 7 he efforts of Mr. Allred as leader lead-er cf the band, of Mr:;. John Wmk-ein-.j-t, president of the Band Mothtrs organizat cn, who worked diligently on the arrangements of the trip, and T. W. Jensen, who made all preliminary arram;emet:ts for the band group in Salt Lake Ci'y. and the splendU fine musicians music-ians should be appreciated by the citizens of Mt. Pleasant for they have helped to put Mt. Pleasant on the map of the state as well as training for higher citizenship and more intelligent use cf leisure time. People of Mount Pleasant should get back of this Junior Band movement. It is something the town may be proud of. The school faculty and school leadership should receive their share of the cifdit in this also. T. W. Jensen, presented the band vv th , lovely felt Banner that may be used to effect by the band on paiade or wherever they may be asked to appear. The need ef such a banner has been felt by th-'s-. in charge for years and the sift was greatly appreciated. |
